Subject: Just Purchased Vue d'Esprit

macmullin ( ) posted Fri, 26 April 2002 at 11:25 AM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 8:23 PM

I just purchased the full version of Vue d'Esprit (it has not been delivered yet) to use as rending engine and back drop to my Poser creations. So I am a newbie in regard to Vue d'Esprit... The question I would like to ask the forum, where are the best resources on the web for Vue d'Esprit Galleries, freebees, tutorials, tips and tricks and are there any special utilities, which would make a difference in working with the program. All suggestions appreciated

Hi Dale and welcome. You can find the best ressources right here (mostly for PC). At Renderosity is also a Vue galley where you can show your images, there is free stuff and more. All your questions will find an answer here too. Tutorials also. To start, go to the link. :-)Guitta

My suggestion is here and a few other places, but the best is here. Guitta has lots of knowledge and is also one of the moderators here for Vue. I have gotten almost all of my help from here. Also, Varian is truely knowledgeable regarding Vue.....but when you get it you will have to upgrade it, if they don't send you the upgraded CD to 4.06, you might as well start off right. Check after installation to see what version you have and if it is not 4.06 then go get the upgrade and it will work fine. I am not an authority on Vue, but I do love it, welcome and I am sure you will have a great time. Sharen :-)

Well shoot. I type so slow that by the time I posted my message three others beat me to the punch. So I deleted it for a shorter post. :) They are all correct. :)

Like you, I got Vue for backgrounds for Poser, however Vue became my main program because it is so cool. Just wait till you see how much cooler your poser figures look when rendered in vue!

Welcome aboard. :)

p.s. As mentioned, you definitely want the patch (if not already at that version, but most likely you will need it) as poser files do not import as well without it. :)

Like NightVoice I got Vue for doing Poser settings, but since then Vue has become my primary porgram and Poser is the supplement! So be careful! :) jon

I've never owned Vue 3 and I purchased Vue 4. Sounds like you got ahold of someone that has no idea what they are talking about to me. Very strange. jon

Purhaps he thought you were only purchacing the up grade. The full version of Vue 4 can be purchased right on their web site.

Or you can purchase it through DAZ and get a $20 DAZ gift certificate. Silly isn't it? Spend $200 and get $20 "for free"! :) Heck, worked on me. I'm new to VUE too as of last week and I was shocked at how quickly I picked it up and was able to do passable renders. LOTS of fun!
