Well, I'm going to the Belgian Spa-Francorchamps racing track tomorrow morning with friends. There's a Ferrari meeting there - owners coming with their own private cars, and historic sports cars (the ones that races at the Le Mans 24hours in the 60's and 70's) and historic Formula One cars (ones driven by legends like Niki Lauda and Gilles Villeneuve). Since the track itself is very special and incredibly well suited for photography, I'm planning on taking a lot of photos all day. Just for laughs (and for the sake of showing off ;) this is what I bought today ;) A box of 5 rolls of Kodak Portra 400 VC, another box of 5 rolls of Kodak Elitechrome 100, another pack of 5 Fuji Provia 400F rolls, 2 rolls of Fuji Velvia, one roll of Provia 100F, 5 rolls of Fuji Sensia, one roll Kodak Portra b&w, one roll Kodak T400CN b&w and one roll of Ilford XP2 b&w. Which makes up for a total of 936 shots. And I still have the feeling I haven't got enough rolls with me, lol! Hmmmmm.....if we spend 10 hours at the track, I have to shoot 93.6 shots per hour, is 1.56 shots per minute.....Arrrghhhh!!! Seriously, I wasn't planning on shooting everything, but they expect to have both sunny, overcast and rainy weather on the same day AND I'll be shooting action shots & cars that are standing still. So I do need different stuff :) Hope to show you some stuff next week...

Lets hope you don't get shutter finger!! try explaining that to the doctor,lol.

We'll be expecting some cool results from all those rolls ; )

Damn, that's a whole lot of film! I hope you have a camera
that makes it easy to switch film in the middle of a roll!
For me, that's the most annoying thing about film cameras.

Some of those classic Ferraris are quite sexy, so don't
forget your soft focus lens! :-)

Asalina has hit on a good point - what happens if you wanna do that? how does a camera let you switch films and still keep your place on the roll? damn, you guys wonder why I stick to digital......lol (",)

Well, it's not difficult....it does pull the film inside the roll, but I have a little metal thing to pull film back. If you write down the number of the last shot you made, you can just quickly shoot with the cap on. Takes a bit of practise, but the weather usually changes in 30 mins to an hour, so it doesn't have to be so quickly :)

ok, let me get this straight - you shoot,say, 15 shots - need to change film, wind the film back, put in new film - either do the same again or finish the film, re-load the ORIGINAL film, keep the lens cap on and shot 15 times - hopefully you're in the right place, yeah? Cool. I get that. Cheers!! Once again, I learn something new! (",)

I always fear I'll double expose, so I often will go WAY beyond where I left off, wasting film. Unless you do your own, that's going to be one hell of a developing bill! I still love film by far, but digital sometimes sure is nice!
