"the file has a newer version number than expected. poser will attempt to read it anyway." just wondering

That happens when the file was created with Poser Pro Pack, and you are opening it in Poser 4. So far, I have never seen Poser 4 fail in its attempt to read it (but it's possible, if the file used Pro Pack-only features). Lynn Grant Castle Development Group

heyas; you can get rid of that by resaving the item after it loads. or, if you want, you can hand-edit the library file and change the version entry.

Oh aye, I see that a lot. It's a pro-pack thing. If you load the file 'Poser attempts to read it anyway', (and I have yet to find the file it can't read anyway) and then resave the figure to the Library, it loads up again next time without any difficulty. If you're having difficulties loading the files, make sure you're using Poser 4.0.3. If you'e using an earlier version, the patch can be dowlloaded from Curious Labs. Benedictions!

You will also get that message if you're using a non-updated version of Poser and the file was made in Poser 4.03. It just means that the file was created in a newer version of Poser and so far I don't recall anyone reporting that the file wouldn't actually load. And yes, the way to fix it is to get the 4.03 update.
