Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Oct 26 8:50 am)
Davo, I also ordered my copy last Thursday, and can't wait to try it out. I have Bryce 4.0 now, but I think Vue has a more realistic view to it. Hope to see some of your pics up after you get a chance to play around with it. Two weeks to wait until I get my copy, at least I still have Bryce to tide me over.
Help!!!....we are invaded! Hello to all and welcome. Yes, you would luv Vue 3 as much as myself. Elpinio - The advertisement price for Vue 3 Mover is USD $189.00 at i-us.com and from Vue itself. I am not sure of shipping cost that why Davo mentioned USD 199.00. I all the way here across the continent from e-on.com and my package arrived in less then 10 days - standard shipping and thats fast! Bill
The total charge for Vue on my Credit Card was $203.52 The invoice arrives in French Francs (1283 FF) so I'm sure there will be some variation depending on the current exchange rates. All in all it's "about $200" I'm on the US East coast & mine arrived in about 6 days. (And Paris was still cleaning up from the big storm when I ordered it.) Welcome to the group, Davo! Hope to see some of your stuff here soon! Bill is right, you'll love Vue. It's a fun program to play around with!
From what I've seen World builder is a fine program with a 3DMax type interface and a lot of advanced features for creating large scale landscapes and doing lots of animation. My only problems with the program are that the rendering engine is not the smae quality of Vue, Bryce, or even WCS, and it's not known to be an "artist's program". Still, I was very tempted to get it till Vue 3 came out. ($400? last time I looked it was $700)
I'd rather stay in my lane than lay in my stain!

I just ordered Vue 3 on Thursday, can't wait to make some homes for my creatures. I am most interested in the vegetation aspect, that is the main reason I chose view over Bryce, and the fact people say it is user friendly, (had a borrowed version of Bryce, unloaded after a couple hours, not user friendly), anyway, I don't know if anyone here uses autocad, but there is a program called Accurender from mcneel.com that runs in autocad. Accurender has a fantastic fractile vegetation renderer, you see stick figures in the viewport, but when you render, the plants come in very realistic, even throws shadows through the branches onto the ground. I am courious to see if they will be compatible. Anyway, hope to get Vue soon. Davo
