Haven't really tried my hand at this...woops, a little pun there! I have been duly inspired by all my friend in the forum's wonderful montage images, so here is my first attempt. 5 separate photos and about 10 layers...still working on it. Any helpful suggestions gratefully accepted! :-)>

Whoa! Creepy!!! Nice.... The only thing I watch out for in montages is getting the light right through all the images (judicial use of dodge & burn tools sometimes) and that's partly the only thing I'd change so far here - the hand itself isn't straight, but the shadow it appears to cast to the right of it is. See how your shadows on the fingers follow? Once it goes up the side of the hand / wrist it's just a block - match this shadow to the hand shape and it'll be a cracker!!!! (",)

Keep going punkster.....I think you've got something real good here....don't expect advice from me though I struggle with my own work....definitely has a creepiness to it which I like!

I am, therefore I create.......

Thanks Jordy! I see what you mean...I'll work on that! :-)>

Cross posted Michelle! Thankyou too...creepy is the feeling I'm aiming for here, so I guess I'm on the right track!

My only comment would be to see if you can get back part of the thumb that disappeared somewhere along the line. Maybe go back to the original and retrieve the missing part. Other than that, I see the makings of a great Halloween card! Maybe some blood dripping down from the fingertips?!?

needs blood dripping down the wall from the tips of the fingers.

PhrankPower ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 9:56 AM

That's what I meant!

It certainly is a crepier image than you usually post. This and floating crosses... Are you feeling OK, PC?

I'm light years away from doing satisfactory photomontages, but thinking this as a whole image for its own sake, like Jordy, I would also comment that the shadow on the right of the hand needs a little rendering... As it is right now, it creates some sort of 'blind spot' on the image... Well, my humble comment anyway... :)

Nice work so far PC, I like the creepy feel (can I see faces in there...?) Don't put blood in there, just so obvious & old hat!! I agree the hand needs some more blending, I think the contrast of the hand & shadow is maybe a bit strong compared to the rest so the hand sits in front of the image rather than being part of it (if that makes sense!) You're well on the way with this, keep it up ; )

sometimes the old hats feel the best when you wear them and fit the best.

Thanks people...lol blood dripping! I appreciate all the feedback, I'm going to get back to this one in a few days, what with shifts at work and a few other pots on the boil! I hope to post an updated image soon(ish).

PC, I agree with Bev, blood would be "expected". What if you did GROOVES leading from the fingers (as if it's scratching its way). If you use blood, it would have to be darker, more dried... but then we be getting even creepier! s

oooh, yes, very creepy - and definitely needs some blood....:-)
