I have an Intuous I immenently coming and am wondering how huge of a mistake it was not getting the II. Anyone used both? -WTB

I may not be the right one to ask. I have a II and had a I--I still have it in fact but can't find the stylus at present and may have to order a new one. I am not as happy with the Intuous 2 as I thought I would be. It is not anywhere near as sensitive as it was touted [mind you, I may have a lemon, I've reinstalled the driver a couple of times and it's still quirky] and I just don't find it as responsive in a long term reliable dont-have-to-even-think-about-it way as the first one. I do find I'm grinding the stylus into the pad to do much of anything, or trying to catch it when it jumps off the screen. Emily

I only have an Intuos 1, and I've not used one of the new ones, so feel free to ignore the rest of my post. Still reading? Okay, good. Anyhow, I don't think you can make a mistake getting an Intuos 1 if mine is any indication. I know other people swear by Graphires or by tablets by different makers, but I love my Intuos. It was one of the best investments I made for this damn hobby so many of us are into (and some professionally, I didn't forget you folks :)). So, the short answer? No. Good investment. I hope you get as much enjoyment out of yours as I do out of mine. (Taken out of context, that sounds really dirty. Hell, it still kind of does. ;))

I see Whoopdat ;) nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more. I bought one made by the company Trust and it's great, maybe one day I'll even learn how to make my own textures. Rob

I could never afford Intuos and I am VERY happy with my Graphire ;P

I can't wait until the Wacom Cintiq becomes affordable. I have a bitty Wacom Pen Partner (ollllld version) and I vowed I would wait until I could afford a tablet that you can draw right on the screen to replace it.
