I'm wondering if any of you with 'contacts' have any knowledge if the Bryce 4 book by Susan Kitchens will ever be published now--with the problems with MC and all. I was really looking forward to it and have had it 'reserved' at Amazon since last Summer. I have to admit I don't have any great hopes that it will ever appear. I used to have her web site bookmarked, but haven't found it lately. Diane B

Hi Diane I hope so! I read a message from Eric Wenger (Bryce Creator) saying he does not intend to let Bryce dissapear. Evidently, he owns most of the code and Meta just had licensed it. And considering the nearly universal popularity it has I am certain it will find a home. Also considering the large population of Bryce users... What better product than one with a great deal of popularity and a large user base? After all the Poser4 book just hit the stores. Although I guess it may also depend on how far along she was in its creation.... Guess I just optimistic! regards, Eric Walters

Eric, I think it was about ready to publish for 3D (the 2 book is great, but rather out of date G) and then it was held, as I understand it, for revisions when 4 came out. The first one was published by Peachpit Press and came with a CD with a lot of neat stuff on it, plus the book is VERY helpful. Diane B

I did find her page--www.auntialias.com. Seems she was at Metacreations the last 1 1/2 and resigned to take a sabbatical in October G. It still says the book is to come out this month. Guess we'll see. Others might like to visit her site--interesting Bryce things. Diane B

MetaCreations has again said (in a recent mass-mailed letter to registered Meta App owners) that they plan to continue to support their 3d software until they are transitioned to their new publisher(s). Whether or not third parties accept that remains to be seen. -sk
