Subject: poser / max plugin?

heya... just been riflin thru the older freebies.. and DL'd a couple of files which appear to be primarily in MAX format.. can I use them in poser or is the crossover as yet unmade? .. I have the OBJ files for them.. if that helps any... drool.. poser's great. I'm in heaven.. if only I'd actually studied when I did computing at uniL.. Dolph.. :D

you cant load max files into poser. but you can import OBJ or 3ds files into poser and more than likely you will need to re-texture them.. just go to file -> Import-> wavefront obj. (if thats the format you have)

hmm.. groovy.. so I can toast anything with .max in it then?... just as a point of interest.. isn't .3ds a max file?L.. oooh I get so damn confusedL*

well you cant load .MAX files into poser.. but some max files use external .obj or .3ds files... .3ds is the 3D studio max native format for model and any model out there is either in 3ds or can be converted to it... and most 3d software can load and save it.. .max files contain more 3d studio max specific information. (parttical systems, textures, and everything that you do in 3d max) I think max is pretty much the only thing that can load .max files. if ya have max files and you think you want the models out of them you can use 3d explore it can view max files and (i think) convert them.
