Originally modeled and textured in LW7, the "Antares Class" bridge redefines the standards for the starship bridge. I conceptualized this as a man-of-war vessel meant to dish out as much punishment as it can take. From the raised command chair surrounded by consoles, to the rotating weapons stations complete with a wrap-around HUD (heads-up display), to the submarine inspired control yokes of the helmsman, the split level layout is designed for your crew to take on any threat and overcome it. Over 150 man-hours of detailed work given to those who are ready to take the sci-fi genre to the next level. The C4D conversion is already out, many thanks to billy-home, who spent over two weeks trying to get the original textures back together. Both schlabber and billy-home are currently working on a Poser version, which should be available for FREE very soon. More to come... Please let me know if you are ready for more. Many thanks. :o) - M

Here's another view of the bridge. For those of you wondering what possessed me to give this away for free, it's just my humble way of saying thank you to a wonderful community and all the friends I have made here (you know who you are). :o) Cheers! - M

This is a very impressive set! Incredible detail and what seems like logical design. I can't wait to see it for Poser (and I'm gonna check out the Lightwave version, too). Good work, and thank you.

Here's the link to the LW7 version. Just go to the Free Stuff section and look for the "Antares". I would love to see what you come up with for a crew (human or alien). Enjoy! :o) - M

Amazing detail, this looks like it came out of a professional CG movie. Thanks very much for giving it away too, we all appreciate it! :) SnowS

Geezus, Moe... between this and the Dystopia City Blocks, you have become one of the masters of the Tech Set crew. Err, by that I mean technological set pieces. ^_^

That's really amazing. drooling all over himself I have significant fear of its file size though. Is it parts, or one big thing?

thgeisel ( ) posted Sat, 11 May 2002 at 2:39 PM

great modell and many thanks to you and the people who make it poser ready!!

Moebius87 ( ) posted Sat, 11 May 2002 at 2:46 PM

Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement and support. Yes, I believe that billy-home and schlabber are going to be converting it in bits and parts (rigged to rotate and slide), so you do have the option to construct your own bridge. And so that the download times aren't too traumatic. A tremendous load of thanks to billy-home, otherwise this model would just be taking up space on my hard drive. I am incapable and inept at making conversions to Poser, so am deeply grateful to these artists who help make my work more accessible. :o) - M

Typical of Moe, doesn't take as much credit as is due. Moe does all the hard work, he builds the things, I only try to make his work accessable to people who use other formats. Th C4D version is 2.89meg in size, this includes the textures as well. The Poser version is a hell of a lot bigger, the obj file is 10meg alone, so what I'm doing now is breaking it up into smaller parts for a much easier download, it'll hopefully be ready in a week or so. I'm also hoping to finish a Truespace version as well over the next few weeks, I'll also try to put the model out as a 3DS file, since most programs can import this format.

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Sat, 11 May 2002 at 4:43 PM

Awesome! Gonna be FREE? Unbelievable!!! Of course, what am I excited about? I'm sure when it is released as a Poser item, I'll see it in the free section WHEN, and ONLY WHEN the downloads have been exhausted. I might as well start crying now. I'd offer to share some of the download from our family website, but it's at Dellhost and I'm sure the darn thing would be downloaded so much we'd be charged for exceeding our monthly bandwidth. Drat, what to do, what to do? Well, nevertheless, you guys are great to do all that work and then give it away! What a great way to say thanks to the community, as spoken earlier!

I don't post much around here, but I just wanted to add my "Wows!" and "Thank you's". You are extremely talented, I've created a few sci-fi scenes, but yours puts them to shame. I am truly inspired, and that is my highest compliment I can give! Thank you for posting it in Free Stuff, I would have gladly paid for it!

Oh - yepp - this Antares Bridge - I hope to do it next weekend - so we all can use it then for Poser ... :o) Only thing by now I can do is beg for a little bit more patience - thank you ...

ronknights ( ) posted Wed, 15 May 2002 at 6:57 AM

I remain totally confused. Is this available yet? If so, where? I looked in Free Stuff, and Moebius87 has NO items listed. Ron Message671422.jpg

Hey - does that mean I don't need to touch it ??? hmmm ... would someone please inform me - thaaaanx ...

Moebius87 ( ) posted Wed, 15 May 2002 at 9:26 AM

Sorry about the confusion, ronknights... you really should do a search in freestuff for "Antares". I don't have webspace to host these freebies yet, so I rely on the kindness of others. billy-home has posted up the Bowers version, "Antares B" at RDNA. The schlabber version, "Antares S" should be out in a couple of weeks. :o) Thanks for the link, jenay.

I thank you very much for such a fine model. I scanned through the thread, and saw no clue about where to get it.... Until Jenay helped out! By the way, I did a search for Antares, and found NOTHING. Ron Message671422.jpg

billy-home ( ) posted Wed, 15 May 2002 at 12:24 PM

All I've released at the moment are 4 .pz3 files and the textures, I'm still editing the .pp2 prop files, when these are finished I'll post them as well, hopefully by the end of the week :-)

billy-home ( ) posted Wed, 15 May 2002 at 12:41 PM

Meant to say I'm releasing them as props as well as pz3's.
