Subject: Ironhart's Contest. Win my next Product.

ironhart ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 12:01 AM · edited Wed, 25 December 2024 at 10:49 AM

OK, let's make it official. The contest will run for 10 days.. it will be over on the 11th of May and winners will be picked on the 12th. The Prize is my up and coming model house which at this time looks like it will be a tudor inn. It is now in progress, and hopefully will be finished near or by the contest end. The Prizes will be awarded to 3 possible winners depending on the judges ruleings. Each Judge will pick one favorite picture made by the entrants. If three different works of art are chosen then each will recieve a prize. If all three agree on a picture then one prize will be given and if 2 agree and one is different then 2 prizes will be given. get it? The Judges will not consult each other on the works of art but will choose solely on their own likes and dislikes. The entrants will not be made aware of which Judge chose or didn't choose their picture. The rules are : a picture using at least one of my products as a major element in the picture. The picture can be created in any program the artist chooses. It needs to be known by all that my props are made for poser and I will not recommend them for use in any other media or programs. The artist will retain all rights to their art. Though the art will be used for display during the contest for promotion for Ironhart Products and for the artists work. No more than 2 entries per artist. Pictures must be posted here at renderosity for judging and we can use this thread for entrants. Just post your link to your in a renderosity gallery and submit a link to the picture in this thread. Please do not post your picture in this thread as this would be unfair and any picture submitted in the thread will not be considered as an entry. even if it is corrected unless the entrant removes that portion of the thread entirely. The Judges will be selected by me and at this time I have 3 in mind. If they accept they will be linwhite Stingerr123 ClintH Should any of these 3 choose not to serve as a judge then I will select another. Here's hopeing we get more than 3 entries. Ironhart.

Non-Poser user sighs loudly Looks like a great contest, Ironhart. And an impressive list of judges. I hope you get all 3, and I'm sure you'll have many more than 3 entries! Message671414.jpg You've probably already thought of this, but I haven't looked.... You might want to post a link to this thread in the Poser forum. Good luck to all.

genny ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 9:18 AM

Yes, Sipapu is right, you should post this in the Poser Forum, and I bet you get alot of entries. I went ahead and purchased the Blacksmith shop after I posted the first time you mentioned this contest, so I am ready to give it a go. To be quite honest, I didn't even know about your buildings until I read your post here, and I am sure others may be the same. I tend to purchase things, (do a search) when I want something specific, so perhaps I would have never found your wonderful buildings. (: Genny

ClintH doesn't have the time to spare on this project, so I am currently working with renderosity on getting a third Judge for the contest, I will post who it will be when I gain more inofrmation. Ironhart

Uh, oh. Looks like my entry is the first. Just a few Photoshop touch-ups - nothing significant to the Tutor house itself.

Ok, here is my 1st entry :) Working on a second one. Hey Ironhart, someone is looking for a house similar to those by artis Thomas Kinkade :) Bet you could do one! Crescent great image, and I like the story that goes along with it :)

Though I don't want to comment on the images submitted so far in fear of showing prejudice, I want to thank both entrants so far. I still don't have a 3rd judge and maybe I'll make that a public opinion poll or get my neighbor or cousin to Judge. as for the prize.. I have just started doing the refinement work on it and am moving it to poser for textures. It is three storeys high about twice the size of the little tudor. it is a half-timber Tudor. it has a front and back door and an upstairs exterior entry. Either the front or the back could be used for the Front of the house, making it more versitile in street type sceens. I'll post a pic once it is basically textured. just 4 more days till contest end. lets get at least one more entry. :) Ironhart.

Crescent ( ) posted Tue, 07 May 2002 at 7:34 PM

I didn't realize the contest ended this Friday. I hope my one entry is good enough. Sigh Next week is when I finally have time for fun stuff. At least I got one done. Ah, well. Good luck to everyone who enters.

Well I ran out of time before I ran out of things to add :) But I think its stands well enough as it is ... I'll add the rest of the picture I have mind once I find a cabbage. BTW Ironhart - there's a visible seam in your texture on the back of the stoneshoppe. (over on the right of my pic) Yes I know, only I'd put the _back_ of the model in the scene :) This was fun :) Lyrra

The contest is over After sever down Saturday night. Not Friday as reported elsewhere. Ummmm. but that might be sunday in australia, I get too confused. international time is hard to figure out. Like if winter in australia is during our summer, then that means christmas there is in their summer. kinda blows the traditional snow and sleigh concept. and if it is saturday there now then that means for someone somewhere the day I am going to have is over somewhere else. mind boggling! I just got up and my head is clogged. The point is: You still have time! Go for it!! Ironhart

My entry. Just kidding :) but the link does go to a render that uses the "Little Inn" plus all my other buildings. Hope you like it. and since I think I did such a good job, I'll give myself a consolation prize and send me a model. Ironhart

I won't be around most of today, but will try to get online to announce winners. Thankyou to all who entered and I really appreciate the efforts put forth by all of you. Ironhart.

ironhart ( ) posted Mon, 13 May 2002 at 1:21 AM

two Judges have reported their decissions, and I still have one judge to report. For judge 3 I got my friends mother and signed her onto Renderosity showed her the pics and she picked one. When all three votes are in I will announce the winners but to keep the suspence I will wait till all three report. Ironhart

Thanks pokeydots, I loved your images very much as well. I have entered over a dozen Poser contests and this was the first time I have ever won Anything, so needless to say I was very excited. It was an honor to compete with such wonderfully talented artists as yourself and the others who entered the contest and great fun to work with ironhart's creations.

Lyrra ( ) posted Mon, 13 May 2002 at 4:32 PM

Wow! This is the first render I've done in over three months - been too busy making textures. I'm glad everyone liked it, and I wanted to say to everyone else that your work was great too. Those poor judges :) Thanks again! Lyrra

genny ( ) posted Mon, 13 May 2002 at 4:44 PM

Congradulations, Lyrra and ladynimue........all the pictures were great, I am sooooo glad, I wasn't a judge. (: I also want to thank Ironhart for doing this contest, it was great fun. (: genny

ironhart ( ) posted Mon, 13 May 2002 at 10:24 PM

I just got a 40 gig hard drive, my old drive was overflowing with data. but my friend that installed it accidently erased my entire POSER directory. Good news is we saved some of it, and bad news is we didn't save the Inn which was not sent to a CD yet.. I usually keep a copy of all my finished products on CD for safty. unfortunately, I had planned to do it b4 the change to the new drive, but when I woke up he had already started the changeover and I kept my mouth shut... I shoulda opened it. Anyway, I do have all the files in waveformat and I found about 90 percent of the textures. So, now I must reset all the windows and doors on their axis's and reset all the textures, plus align all the building parts. Sigh This will take a few days, so I am sorry about not getting the product out on schedule. Also, I want to say that I loved every entry and as a consolation prize, all entrants will recieve my up and coming village extras package. It will contain some of the goods given out to my first month customers in that special package plus some new stuff that is made to go with my houses and for customizing village sceens etc. I will make a list of those that entered and will make sure you get it. but don't hold your breath, since it will be in the making after this project and worked on between several other projects and updates that are in progress. I also will be premering my Domain in the near future and when I do, I'd like to start off a gallery of customer's works with these entrys. I will only post them on my site with permission, so please respond if you are ok with that. most of all, Thank you one and all for your time and talent. Ironhart.

genny ( ) posted Tue, 14 May 2002 at 12:15 AM

Hi Ironhart, Sorry to hear about your Hard-drive problem, but it appears you have it under control. (: Anyway, I would be honored if you used my picture in your customer's gallery, so please feel free. Take care and I will be on the look out for your "Premiere". genny

ironhart ( ) posted Tue, 14 May 2002 at 1:52 AM

Hell, I decided that since you are all such good sports and show such graciousness. I hereby proclaim! since I can! that instead of a lousy consolation prize... that there shall be 5 winners. yep! All five contestants get the Inn. congradulations all. and I know it was hard for the judges.. and the winners... get the knowledge that they got the votes. Just do me a favor... make some pictures with them so I can see what others are doing with my props. It really is a motivating force. Thanks again... Ironhart.

Oh what a FANTASTIC thing to do :) I am doing the happy happy joy joy Poser Dance. I could not agree with you more, everyone one who entered was a winner :) I am so sorry to hear about your hard drive data loss. I have a love/hate relationship daily with my computer! I am glad that you were able to recover most of your data. And thank you once more for your thoughtfulness and generosity in conducting the contest. Also, you have my permission to post any of my images that include your excellent products on your new site. ladynimue

genny ( ) posted Tue, 14 May 2002 at 1:06 PM

Yes, Ironhart, what ladynimue says is true...........It/this is a Fantastic thing for you to do! (: I too, am doing the "happy, happy, joy, joy dance"! LOL! Thank you so much for having this contest, and for your generousity. Genny

Lyrra ( ) posted Wed, 15 May 2002 at 1:42 AM

Ironhart, Sorry to hear about the harddrive thing :( I lost a beautiful Bryce image that way once (3 days setup - 2 days render, then Poof!) But glad to hear you decided to be so generous. :) You should look out for your stuff in any of my images in the near future - since I'm currently making a 'set' of a village/small city in Bryce using your buildings, and Caleb's buildings/props. Although it may just be the back :) BTW - I'm planning on remapping the StoneShop with a more weathered wood. (for my image I rematted in Bryce) so if you don't mind I'll post it to freestuff. Lyrra

ironhart ( ) posted Wed, 15 May 2002 at 6:08 AM

Lyrra, sure post it! that would be great. I have alot of questions for you about how you did a few of the things you did in your picture. but they will have to wait until I get resettled. Btw as of writing this I almost have the inn redone. just a few more things to do, the winners might get it b4 the weekend and it will go to renderosity maybe tomorrow. That is if all goes well. and with luck it will be in the store this weekend. Oh! and I will need E-mail addresses to send the inn to. so if you won, and you all did. then just drop me an e-mail. be sure to put poser in the title especially if it is a different name than you use here. I will send you back an IM here in renderosity to validate that it is indeed your e-mail after I recieve it. Ironhart
