The best dragon? Jeez, ask an easy one sometime... The best dragon depends on what you want. The DAZ dragon has just about the most freebies and add-on products of anything on the market, but its head is... well, in my opinion, lacking. MallenLane's so-called "Adult hatchling" is one of the most gorgeous looking dragons out there, but he looks a mite too friendly to me if he's going to be a bad guy. ^_^ My own Dracos Titanicus is a heavyset, physically powerful looking beast, but does not have anywhere near the "after market support" - only three or so rextures. However, it is also the cheapest of these three. Mock's Dragon has a build roughly similar to the DAZ dragon (i.e., slender but muscular), and in my opinion has a better head, but it also has a beaked head, which may or may not be right for you. It is roughly comparable in price to the Dracos Titanicus, but also has slightly more after-market support. Then there's Anton's Storybook Dragon, a quadropedal wingless dragon. I know very little about this one. The free dragons that I know of are Anton's free dragon, which is probably more appropriately called a wyvern since it has no forelegs, only wings (should be available in Freestuff), my Land Dragon, which is a wingless dragon and also not that threatening looking (here in freestuff), and I've seen a few others around... I did a thread in the Product Showcase forum to shocase all the dragons available (and some not), where all the dragons were shown in grescale with no textures... That's the link above. One warning, it's quite graphics intensive. ^_^ I hope this helps!Remember, kids! Napalm is Nature's Toothpaste!

I asked that question a few months ago. Here's a link to the very helpful responses. For my project it turned out the Adult Hatchling at DAZ3D had the best features. You can see the results on my gallery page and compare to the pics at daz. I'm also probably going to go for the dragon kit.Valandar Your land dragon here(freestuff the link doesn't work) :O( I already had the Adult Hatchie and took it back. I love the Lil-Hatching. But I wanted an mean looking, classical dragon. Thanks for all the links-Hiram, I had Antons free dragon before. I now have it again. :O). but I still will probaby buy The cd or go with Daz's. Not in any hurry to spend my money. ha-ha. I'll play around with this and see if I can make it work.

By the way, those threads are a bit out of date now. After they were posted, Imagination Works released its own Poser dragon, and Valandar created an oriental dragon which can be found in the Marketplace.
If you're set on getting the original DAZ Dragon, this thread compares many of the available textures.
Thanks little Dragon. That compares link was great!!! Haven't made up my mind. but with the Daz dragon you wouln't have to buy any textures. :O) They brought up the point that not many renders done of Daz dragon? Why is it hard to work with. I only want a dragon to be in renders I do with the Faries. :O) Thanks again.

Thanks for the IW link and the plug for us and also Valandar's dragon. ("outnumbered by naked V's" lol :) FYI: Our Poser model prices are coming down a bit, but I shall make a post once our site reflects these changes. BTW,Who is the dragon-rendering King or Queen that would like to create some keewwwl renders for us to post, in exchange for our little dragoon? Any takers? Lemme know! Tx! Pam pam@iw43d.comBaron regent, myself. I'd take you up on your offer, but I work more with animation than still-renders, and prefer to use my own creations. Sorry.
