If you're on a Mac and having problems using the files (see link), simply change the type and creator to TEXT and ttxt. This is the type and creator used by Simpletext. You can find file type and creator changing utilities at versiontracker.com by the way. Also, don't miss out on some other free bvh files at the following link... http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~pingelm/ComputerAnimation/Motions/bvh/ Have fun!

They also work if you run them through Martin C.'s Maconverter 1.1.5 first.

Really??? Never thought about running them through Maconverter although I use Maconverter all the time to convert the "typical" Poser files. I'll have to try that now to see what happens. Didn't think it would take a "generic" document type and convert it to a text document. Thanks for the tip!

Another BVH problem I had once on my Mac... when converted it came out double-spaced, and loaded with LOTS of errors. Making it single-spaced (in a text editor) fixed it!

The double-space thing might be related to line feeds. I think there's a command in BB-Edit that strips them out, or maybe it's the "zap gremlins" command (yes, there is such a command). When you run a bvh file with a blank icon through Maconverter, you get the same kind of action as with obj files - it becomes a Windows text file (TEXT, mdos) with one of those blue PC icons. BVH files seem to work as long as they're (TEXT, mdos) or (TEXT, ttxt).
