This is an elven warrioress I just started about a week ago. Does anyone know where I can get conforming knee-high sandals? Would a good transparancy map on boots work?

Hi there, Try baumnetgarten enterprises in the resource list ----> The had some roman type kneehigh sandal meshes I think. And I pretty sure they can be converted to conforming files without much trouble. Renapd put a mini tut on the forum a while back..so you would just have to do a search for her name and follow the steps she goes through in her post. BTW you elven worrior looks very impressive so far :) Hope this helps Regards Eshal

Thanks Eshal, I found Baum's sandals. This will be the first time building a conforming figure. Wish me luck!

That's a great figure! I love the eyes and the hilt of the sword...hell I love the whole lot! Maybe tatter up the bottom edges of the chainmail a little bit 'tho? Instead of sandals, soft leather boots would probably also look really great, knee high would be best. Smerc released some textures and bump maps for the female socks that make them into leather boots, but I don't think that would suit this figure SewerRat

It's not tattered, it's a decorative cut... right? Beautiful character, BTW..I like. :)

no, but from what I've seen in my (very limited) experience of chainmail, the links each moving around on the edges gives it the look of being tattered, and also you wouldn't cut through the links to make the perfect V shape on the edges, it would be more stepped. But yeah, it's probably just me. I like to "dirty up" the models where possible =) IHawk: will this character be posted? She's great! SewerRat

I am going to put trim on the chainmail "v" edges and a better bump map on the leather breastplate to make it look more "worked." I think soft boots might look better, too. The high sandals don't look right on her. I am also looking for a VERY realistic sword. most of what I've found is plain or cheesy. By the way, the base figure is called "Delores" that I found somewhere...

I kinda like the sword she's got already =) if you like e-mail it to me and I'll try to make a texture that will (hopefully) make it look more realistic elfsword@apocx.hypermart.net but don't feel you hafta =) I reckon knee-high leather boots would look awesome, but I wouldn't know where you could find them SewerRat

I think I'm going to work with socks and really decent tex-maps. Maybe fur fringe....
