Well, the main thing is that animation is built in (as opposed to plug-in), and you can animate everything (not just the camera). Even if you don't plan to do any animation you might find this useful because it allows you to put motion blur into still images (e.g. you can define an animation for a moving car and then you can render a still and see the blur of the car going by). There is also the addition of the torus primitive, alpha and z-map output, LWO and 3DS import, and faster rendering. These are the things that come to mind. So, that's the main stuff which should be enough for you to make your decision. Also you need v3 to take advantage of some new vegetations. -Karl

I have Vue 2 and haven't shelled out the cash to upgrade to 3 yet. Can anyone tell me what the differences are between them and why it would be to my benefit to upgrade to version 3? Melanie
