Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 28 11:20 am)
I had no trouble at all importing those BVH files to see what they would do. My system specs are OS 9.2; Poser 4.0.3 with ProPack SR 3; 384 MB RAM; 10 GB HD; iBook PPC G3 500 MHz. I have also upgraded to OS 10.1.3 in another partition, but I never run Poser under OS 10. In fact, the only time I use OS 10 is for Bryce 5.1 (the upgrade is at Corel's web site), because it renders about 3X faster than under OS 9.2.
Its NOT an OSX issue !!
Im on a MAC G3 Poser pro SR3
with OS 9.2 on my 20 Gig Quantum Drive
and OS 10.1.3 on a separate 9 Gig seagate drive
Poser would not "See" Those BVH Files from that Huge
free archive BUT Credos Lifeforms Can!!
So i first preview the BVH of my Choice in Lifeforms
and then resave it as a BVH from lifeforms and then poser Can See it all of a sudden
and since these files place your figure chest deep
in the floor i run a python script that automatically
brings thier feet to the floor and render away!!
A few extra steps BUT Certainly worth it
:-)

Maconverter will handle this as well, just like the other importable formats.Wow! Never thought about Maconverter although I use it all the time for the typical Poser files. Didn't think that it would do anything for a "generic" document. Will have to try that now just as an experiment. Thanks.

Has anyone on a Mac downloaded and used the BVH motion files from the big archive that's been discussed in this forum? FYI, the link is... http://movement.stanford.edu/santa.zip I can't seem to import any of the files into Poser and I'm not sure why. None of the files show up when I use the Import BVH menu item. Could it be an OS X thing? Can't wait for a native OS X version of Poser!!! TIAPoser 2010 • Poser 8 • MacPro Desktop • Quad-Core Intel Xeon • 10 GB • Snow Leopard • Windows XP
