Hi Vern. I believe I had the same problem you are experiencing. If you are pasting/importing models into a new document the textures stay there as long as you do not close the file. When you reopen the file everything probably changed to a default shader. What you need to do is save the original object/model in the objects pallete and then drag or place it into you're new file. All your textures will then remain. You can create a new texture folder in the shaders pallete and drag your shaders from lower pallete to that folder. To name them just click on the shader and slide open the pallete on the right. Find the current name, highlight it and simply change it to whatever you like. I hope this helps, explaining instructions is not my strength. good luck. memaci

I am having trouble keeping my shaders with their files. I have tried saving both internally and locally and the problem stays. When I reopen the file the cool textures I built and imported have vanished. Using Carrara Studio 1.1.0.4 on a Mac G-4 with a Gig of ram. This is real obnoxious. Also, how do I name shaders? the ones in the lower drawer get numbers automatically. And can I get my new shaders into the left side drawer, the one that has the masters? thanks, vern
