You know she's on her way to Mr. Wrong - wearing all those GORGEOUS clothes! If I can't have her wardrobe, I at least want Jim's spoof Poser 5 interface with the Fabric tab, so my Poser fems can. (Maybe when Rena and the other texture masters get to work with P5.) The benefits of low expectations - I enjoyed the film much more than I expected to.

Not only is it supposed to be a "romance" movie, but people (and critics) are calling it "boring"! You know there's something seriously wrong, when a Star Wars movie is called "boring". --John

The Empire Strikes Back was also a romance, but it had better characters, better actors, a better director, better dialogue and a better story.

My son and his friends went (17-21 year olds) They said it's all about Yoda that makes it worth seeing.

I liked it. But now its like watching the end of a movie and later watching the begining. Already know what happens. Empire Strikes Back had a good suprize in it. Review in Rolling Stone said exactly what "rtamesis" said. Empire Strikes Back had better everything. I liked it more than Episode 1. I wasn't bored.

I adored it, truly-I'm a big old Boba Fett fan, so I was excited to see the Jango Fett equation, (girlie note, was super excited to see Tumeura Morrison as Jango Fett...Cor!)it was a good movie, a good Star Wars movie, I wasn't bored either...going to see it again tomorrow. Yoda was more than worth the price of admission however.

I thought it was boring. And as much as I disliked episode 1, I thought it was better because it atleast had Darth Maul. Of course GL decided to kill off the most interesting character. Being a big fan of the original Star Wars series, I can forgive cheesy dialog and a weak plot, but I can be bored for free. I had to watch "The Matrix" to recover.

Critics are full of s#!t. I base a movie on whether I like it after I see it. If these "critics" know what makes a movie good, then they should shut up and go make one. Then when they fail at making their franchise a household name and billions in their bank account (not to mention revolutionize computer graphics), they can go back to their little criticizing "job"... :)

Well, as an 'old-school' Star Wars fan (Saw Star Wars when originally released in '77, first day, first show, and all summer long after that. I was 10 years old) I think I can safely say that Episode II just doesn't measure up. Was it a bad film? No. But it didn't have what made the original trilogy the classic sci-fi epics they are today, and were then. Why do I say this? Because LucasFilm is now a household name. When it comes to special effects (Industrial Light & Magic), fantastic sound (Skywalker Sound and THX), and digital post-production (again, ILM), they have no equal. And they show off all that talent in Episode II, without question. But the energy is gone. The raw drive of a young filmmaker on his first major motion picture isn't there. Instead there's a showcase of digital wizardry, briefly interrupted by live actors. As much as it tries, it can't focus on them. It's become about the effects, not about the people or the story. There's nothing there to make you feel for the characters...to make you relate to them. How many of we 70's children wanted to be Han Solo after seeing Star Wars for the first time (or second, or fiftieth)? Or Luke Skywalker? or even Darth Vader? Just isn't there anymore...wasn't in Episode I, wasn't in Episode II. I felt no sympathy for Anakin, no concern for Amidala...nothing. I walked out of the theatre with few thoughts, and every one of them were on how great that effect was, or how well that digital sequence was done. That's not a good movie. That's good eye candy. Now, there's only one more to go. One last chance for George to look at his work and go not for the eyes, but for the heart, and the mind, of the viewer. To take us not forward, but back. Back to a time when movies were the magic of people, not technology... Help us Obi-Wan Kenobi...you're our only hope... May The Force be with you... CT

This movie was my favorite out of ALL of them, and yes, that does include Empire.

I can't wait to see it again. However, the question is:
will it still be my favorite after watching it 50-100 times as I have episodes 4-6? Maybe, maybe not.

I can't believe that I just read anybody actually saying that they liked episode 1 better because "at least it had Darth Maul"

uhhh, yeah, it had Darth Maul, and unfortunately it also had Jar Jar Binks and Super Mario Kart. They might as well have made it a cartoon.

There were so many cool characters and vehicles in this movie, I was sitting there thinking, "man, if I was 10 years old again, I'd want one of those, and one of those, and one of those...."

It also cracks me up when people try to compare plot, acting, etc, and say that the current movies are SO much worse. That's hilarious. Keep in mind that many of you were under 15 when you saw the first trilogy. Watch the originals again. Mark Hamill wasn't the best actor in the world...

spiderman was better but I liked this one, I wasnt bored. sad that they decided to show the first part last tho...I hate knowing how something is going to end. I mean come on, how many of us didnt know in the last movie that the mother would be killed in this one? g and come on, surely you know what will happen in the next one? In the end it will all be a big money maker tho. Imagine having all 6 films, watching them from episode 1 thru the last starwars original. Very kewl day thatd be :P and I agree, how does anyone who hasnt ever MADE a move rate as a critic? I mean come on, how many of you would take tips on poser from someone who just looked at the gallery? BT

To those of us old enough to remember the premiere of the first film: Get over it. The "Irwin Allen" days of ooh! and aah! are gone and ain't coming back. You marveled at this film because it broke ground on sfx, and now have to deal with the aftermath of a world where every filmmaker since adopted what made it original. The next level of thrills won't likely happen until 3D immersion's a reality (and you can bet your bippy Lucas will try to rerelease his magnum opus in that format if he's still alive). As far as script and characterization is concerned, I haven't seen it yet so I can't say. I do recognize that Lawrence Kasdan's a tough act to follow--he and Nicholas Meyer have, IMHO, a better grip on what Lucas aims for in screenplays which balance thrills and clever dialogue (as opposed to Bruce Willis/Schwartzenegger one-liners right before blowing something up).
