Subject: Strange problem

I use PS 6, nd for some strange reason, the image windows, which have always behaved quite nicely before, are now opening up and ignoring the tool bar by extending behind them. This is quite irritating. Does anyone know how to reset these limits so that the view on screen window realizes the toolbars are there and doesn't extend beneath them?

clicking reset pallet locations in the WINDOW drag down menu will put all your menus and tool bars back in their original positions. Clicking control-0 will resize to fit on screen (apple-0 for mac users). After resettting the palletes, it resized the image properly. I then got rid of the windows, and resized to fit on screen, and it filled the area they weren't in anymore. I click the navigator back on, resized, and it resized smaller so's not to go behind the navigator. This is all interesting, cuz I normally have my tool bars and whatnot on my second monitor so i can work full screen. Upon dragging the menuns back onto the main photoshop window, resizing the image still always placed it behind the toolbars. Maybe if u click reset pallet locations, and go from there, it'll work again. ? ry

Good Afternoon Bone, Your Toolbox and Options bar must be "docked" to the edge of the screen for the image windows to respect their locations. Give this a try: 1. Pull the Options Bar and Toolbox toward the middle of the screen. 2. Drag the Options Bar back to the upper-left corner (it should 'snap" into place). 3. Then drag the Toolbox until it snaps under the Options Bar and to the left edge of the screen. They should BEHAVE now (but each beast in the machine has a mind of it's own!!) Hope that helps, s

Whenever I'm working with a picture that would be larger than the availble screen area due to the tools, I often "hide" all the windows by hitting "TAB". Sure, you have to "un-hide" them to do a lot of things, but learning the short-cut keys saves you A LOT of trouble! I can do a great deal of work with those windows hidden using the short-cuts and planning ahead. Good luck! Neil

well, I gotta have the pallettes. But doing the reset pallettes bars did the job for me. I'm just not a keyboard shortcut guy.
