has anyone got any decent tutorials that are descriptive to help with making poser chracters and then taking the characters into photoshop to apply writing onto t-shorts,pants and add scars to faces etc

It might be easier to apply those to textures before rendering the characters. I'd think it'd be hard to warp the writing to look natural in post-work.

I'm not so good at creating characters, etc... You might want to consider applying your textures to the texture maps of your characters. There are already texture maps for most existing characters such as Mike and Vicky. If you make your own characters, you can make your own texture maps with UV Mapper. Then you paint your textures on the texture maps and apply directly to your Poser figures. I'm sure others will provide more details. Ron

i'm not too good at making characters either, but i asked a friend and he spends about 3 hours on each one, all my characters always end up looking the same anyways, have anyone got any ideas how you can stop them looking the same all the time? (i mean the face looks the same)

Try using morphs to make the shape of the face different. Also you can tint it in Poser in the render materials. Look in the tutorials sections as a start. Also check other texture maps to see how they did it differently, not to copy but just to get different ideas. There are lots of free maps you can download and look at. Marque

I have many tutorials at my site. I just haven't created any characters yet, so I don't have any character creation tutorials yet.

Try www.poserarcana.com as well for some good tutorials. If you have Deep Paint 3d (you can download a 30-day full-functioning demo at www.righthemisphere.com) you can place text right on your 3d model.

Cake has a good tutorial for faces. But the same principle applys for clothing and add scars.

I think there's a bunch of tutorials over at 3dcc. There's also a bunch of useful info in the Photoshop and Poser tuts here. Or try a google, with "poser"+ "tutorial" ~S
