Subject: rendering in layers??

Ok, this may be a silly question but it occured to me that it would be really neat if Vue could render in layers, or maybe render different objects in different images so it would be easier to use them in Photoshop. Maybe I could figure out how to do that by just deleting all but one object in a scene and then rendering that seperately. Hmm..

If I understand what you are asking, you could always separate items into the different layers, click on the eyeball and make some layers hidden, then in the rendering options under the 'render what?' select render 'only visible layers' or 'only selected object'. That might be what you are looking for. I use that feature to quickly render out objects I adjusted without spending time rendering the whole scene. :)

You can do that easely. Select THE! object(s) or the layer you want to render alone. Then go to IMAGE--->RENDER OPTIONS and chek "ONLY SELECTED OBJECTS" or whatever you want. Guitta

Save the alpha map at the same time to produce a ready-made mask in your bitmap editor.

I'll have to try that. Thanks!

Oh and a tip about selecting multiple objects in your object list. Hold down the ctrl key and left click on the objects. That allows you to select as many objects as you need even if you you do something inbetween. :) (that works for normal windows usage as well) :)
