Ok, I'm making a scene with an effect that looks like light is shining through the trees, and I'm using a quadratic spotlight. How do I get the light to blend in with the background so that it doesn't look like it's just in front of the trees? I want to make it somewhat invisible so that you can't tell it's there. Anyway to do this?

Can you post a sample of what you get? I don't understand exactly what you mean. In front of the trees or behind the trees??? I use a directional light to make shine through the trees, then it confounds completely with the background (because it IS in the background). Guitta

There is a volumetric atmosphere in VUE 4 - I think it is MOMBASSA or something like that. I used it in my picture "GREECE". Possibly you can modify the atm for your use. Bernie

Could not find an image called "GREECE" (except mine and JEDI's, LOL) from bernieloehn? Where is it? Guitta

Maybe by disabling the lens flare effect ?

Maybe if you upped the "soften" for the quadratic spotlight? The rendering time will increase, but it will make where the light ends more gradual..

Sorry, the name of the picture is "Greek impression". Please follow the link. The volumetric atm is really called "Mombassa". Bernie
