Ahhhh. I just bought Poser 4. You had me thinking "upgrade costs", "incompatibilities", "should I just futz around with 4 until 5 is released" and "why didn't anybody tell me?" :) bass-turd!!! ;) Kuroyume

You know that a Major Software company sued the pants of someone for making fake announcements about release dates. BE CAREFUL!

hauksdottir ( ) posted Wed, 29 May 2002 at 7:31 PM

Starmkr, Think about it... would anybody like to see Doc Legume without his pants? (Except for the person who called dibs on his genitalia, that is.) He is probably safe from such suits. However, even the good doctor, genius that he undoubtedly is, doesn't know what is in the 17th level of dungeon under the world headquarters of our favorite software company. Yet. :)= I never realized that snails could grow so large. Carolly

yes they can (& do :-)

hauksdottir ( ) posted Wed, 29 May 2002 at 9:52 PM

Cooler, That is about the right scale. ::shudder at the memory:: The slime was ankle deep. However, their mouths should be underneath the main section. Gastropod means "stomach-footed" and their mouths are down there, too... at least when I pull them off my plants, that section is munching flower petals more often than not. ;p Of course, this evening, the snails are being particularly uncooperative. BTW, salt does kill snails (which have an extremely high percentage of water in their tissues), but it is an ugly death, and grossly gooey to clean up after. Carolly the Gardener

But DIY Poser4.05 might just be finished before that, depending on my laziness level ZZZzzzzzzz........ Highlight mapping, makeup mapping, texture blending, multi format texturing, look at that memory vanishing! Staale

You all are behind the times - I've been doing all my work on Poser 7. It's so cool how you can add awareness to posette - that way she just picks out her wardrobe on her own - less conforming work, you know ;)

Tisa ( ) posted Thu, 30 May 2002 at 7:48 PM

hauksdottir salt is a nasty way. I use a small dish of beer which they seem to love. You do have to clean up drowned snails but at least they die happy :)

Staale ( ) posted Fri, 31 May 2002 at 3:52 AM

BTW: I wasn't joking. Poser4 will soon texture in ways you never thought was possible. I just have to finish my exams first. Staale

hauksdottir ( ) posted Fri, 31 May 2002 at 4:54 AM

Tisa, Well, I'd have to buy the beer first! And buying beer for snails seems a trifle odd. Can you picture the clerk trying to shush me up as I try to get answers to what kind of beer is prefered by snails... and customers flee rather than face the image of a drowned snail in their pilsner glass? Note: my preferred method of execution is throwing them into the street. Their shells often crack so they can't readily crawl back across the hot asphalt, and the birds get an easy meal. No mess, no fuss. Carolly the Gardener
