I think Liftan is back this time as bigshoes. I dont know how many other people got am im regarding the Why not a forum supporting banned members ? but I did and it left me a bit chilled. I have saved the message so if anybody wants to read it Ill post it. If this a Liftan clone I think things might be getting over the top. It seems to be almost personal attacks through im. David

Instant Message from bigshoes: Hi David, You like it or not, we'll see whom will get a kind of eternal diarrhoea, instead of crtiscizing the straw in your neighbour's eye, just pull out the tree trunk you got in yours, please. You are too going to see whom is okay with their intestines, and whom have the biggest percentage of intestine or colon-cancers in their own country. USA got the Awards, talking about the beginning of a big diarrhoea. It's not funny, because nobody else in the world wants to get the same thing...Think it's a waste and a shame for the world to see you stay like this and see you feeling "happy" and arrogant at the same time. _ Read the news: You will see which are the ones who begin to be hated by the whole world. See the "welcoming" that your president is receiving in Europ. It's not my fact. it is A fact of reality. But nobody can help you in, if everyone still try to help you out, trying to make you understand...but you wouldn't listen, and this is the worst thing that you make happening to you. Yes, I think your country is f...ing up itself (and I am a person who loves US people) and f...ing up the whole world. And we won't allow this last thing. So sorry. You will have more news as soon as the Press is free. It is free in other countries, you know...You won't change that either. Sorry again. The worst mistake is to never admit you are making mistakes. (Sent 5/29 06:17)

David_Amos, I am sorry that you are being harassed by another member. What you can do is copy the text of the Im and forward it over to admin@renderosity.com and we'll deal with the member who sent it. If you can keep it in your archive until we get this resolved I would appreciate it. Thanks

audre ( ) posted Wed, 29 May 2002 at 12:15 PM

oohh x-post here with the three of us chuckle... okay well, if you can keep it in your archive while we trace back the source that would help. thanks.

David_Amos ( ) posted Wed, 29 May 2002 at 12:23 PM

hi audre ive saved it as a txt file on my hard drive and also archived it using the archive option, but i have only used im a few times and i have no idea where it archives it too. ummmm any pointers there (he says with an embarassed look for not knowing) but i still have a copy of it. David

x2000 ( ) posted Wed, 29 May 2002 at 12:24 PM

If you ask me, someone should let the FBI know about this guy.

x2000 ( ) posted Wed, 29 May 2002 at 12:30 PM

David, just go to "Instant Messaging", and near the top of the page it will say, "View My Archived Messages" or something like that. Click that to see them, then click "Unarchive" at the bottom of any message you want to restore.

David_Amos ( ) posted Wed, 29 May 2002 at 12:41 PM

Pheww thanks for that, found it, its there, thought i might have deleted it by mistake. what i've done is left it in there. just goes to show how much i use it, (looking less embarrassed now) Thanks ps i don't think the person who sent this even knows i'm not from America but from England David

audre ( ) posted Wed, 29 May 2002 at 12:43 PM

LOL David, nottaproblemo... just leave it in your archive. Please. it won't hurt anything there and that way we have record of it. I've addressed this for now. I am hoping that this member, who I really think DOESN'T intent to hurt anyone, but is emotionally ummmm, hurt? unstable? volatile? (not saying this to slam anyone, just trying to get a handle on the reasons someone might be obesessed with coming back to repost like this time and again) realizes eventually that this is NOT a public forum-free-for-all. This community is about Computer Graphics, not Policital Announcements. This is really not the place for such postings and as long as they continue to abuse the forums and services here, they will be banned. That being said, I do feel that this might be moving into realms where legal and/or law enforcement does need to get involved. This has been disruptive to our Community and staff. And while we are extremely tolerant (Hehhee, yes, really we are when you think about it) about letting folks voice their thoughts this pattern seems like it's getting unhealthy and needs to stop. Sorry to everyone for having to deal with this with us. We are working on it. If this member should resurface and again start the political discourse, please let an admin/mod know either via IM or email to admin@renderosity.com. Thanks

Poppi ( ) posted Wed, 29 May 2002 at 5:35 PM

If you ask me, someone should let the FBI know about this guy. I made that same comment back in the "ridiculous" thread. then, rethought it as paranoia. now, am rethinking once more. one "unstable" person, on a mission can do injury to alot of innocent folks if they set their minds to it....timothy mcveigh, colombine, suicide bombers, and, let us not forget the swell gang of 9/11, mail box bombers, anthrax senders....only takes one. i wish that there was some way the admins could give the correct law enforcement the ip number/s used. would do a lot more than me calling out of the blue and sayin'..."hey, there's this goofy person over at this art site making not so veiled threats to population at large. just a thought. Poppi

x2000 ( ) posted Wed, 29 May 2002 at 5:55 PM

Well, I hate bringing up the whole terrorist angle because it's become such a cliche, but from the anti-semitism to the anti-americanism to the lunatic persistence he shows in coming back in here time after time after time, Liftan fits the profile with frightening precision.

Kendra ( ) posted Wed, 29 May 2002 at 6:18 PM

I believe, in any website, one can ban an IP using the htaccess....can't they? I'm not quite sure how R'osity is set up but it's worth looking into.

Poppi ( ) posted Wed, 29 May 2002 at 6:45 PM

x2000...yup. after 9/11 and the anthrax, and the birds falling out of the sky, and, the men with hazard suits searching here, in my town...(some of the terrorists lived here.)....and the "no fly zone" that was in effect, here for almost 3 weeks longer than over the white house....well, you can call me paranoid. i don't care. i pay attention. if some of us in hollywood, and deerfield beach had paid attention before 9/11...could it have been averted? man, i hate that question. Pop...Pop...Pop!!!

DragonWalk ( ) posted Wed, 29 May 2002 at 7:26 PM

I can assure you that liftan is not RadArt ;-) (who is liftan anyways?...I am here so seldom now I don't hardly even know anybody anymore...or even the history regarding this rather perplexing strangeness called liftan that seems to haunt these forum corridors with such a morbid passion...) Well anyways...it's really none of my beezewax, I am here for the art not the latest forum tabloid teasers....cheers ya'll...

DragonWalk ( ) posted Wed, 29 May 2002 at 7:39 PM

Budding in without a big giant hello to pop...pop...poppi....hey-hi Poppi!! Good to see ya again old friend... And so you won't feel all left out... Hi x2000...hope everyone is treating you as well as can be... Hi Legume...hope you got over your stardom of AOM, I keep waiting to see you on an "Entertainment Tonight" special dedicated to you, but they must be falling behind... Hi Audre...your A-1 in my books...your doing a SUPER job here and there and everywhere but I wonder how you do manage to function without any sleep being all over the place day and night...(hehe)... If I missed anybody else..."all my best to ya".... Adieu

Poppi ( ) posted Wed, 29 May 2002 at 8:22 PM

Liftan could NEVER be RadArt. 'Cause he/she/it has NO SENSE OF HUMOR. All your nuts are berong to me know. Time for the swinging nut squirrel to make his appearance. i LOVE that lil graphic...yup. i truly do. Poppi but, doncha know...i miss radart. i do. somehow, he helped to diffuse this place. even when sigh, sob, moan...i hate all ya all....we still had the c&d to address the junk that no one else on this site much wanted to. i hope that the missing in action radart is off on a mission...diffusing the india/pakistan situation with molly. or, maybe, he is off bringing renewed hope to the isreal/pakistan situation with a bit of help from his nut-swinging squirrel sidekick. i just hope....he is doing awesome work to bring humor to our world at large. and, when molly conquers all rebel forces...and, when, the swing nut squirrel brings humor to the hearts of the most disenfranchised. i hope our radart will return to us. bent, perhaps, but not broken. i have popped. keep good.

Well...ye old squirrel appears to have become distinctively shy of late...he don't share his nuts with just anyone; I think squirrel is trying to be a slight more eloquent and dignified and focus on his bulging creative attributes rather than center on his magniloquent orchids...it's hard enough being a squirrel in an artistic community forum full of human artists... Cheers pop...pop...Poppi ;-)

Hey there, Peter! Glad to see you could make it. Yeah, I'm doing fine, other than for pissing off all the zombie folk in the thread below. But sometimes a man's just got to take a stand! ;)

Kendra, yup server logs will keep track of ip's, then the admin's just need to trace it and forward ip and the destination to the police, local for the server as well as local for the ip. if any criminality occured it happened on the site, the server location has legal jurisdiction. but, US law isn't very strong for internet crimes, unless you can prove e-theft, or similar. canadian law actually banned cgi porn images involving children and animals, or either, unlike the us law which was beaten. yes, complete electronic images, like a pser child used in such a manner can put you in prison in canada...federal prison. a site like this, thar doesn't allow porn images at all could actually have the law back them up if they were hosted in Canada. ~g~
