Ok, been away for a coupla days. Metaphorically speaking. Anyways, found myself down by te nearby river at low tide. Now, there's these old staithes that used to run over to the riverbank for tying the boats to. I think. They're gone now, there's just these stump things left.... so i took a few pics then realised the film wasn't winding on. With just over 5 mins left before I had to go pick up my eldest from school, I quickly re-loaded and re-shot....

Taking this pic was fun, almost lost my shoe in the mud.... Mental note. Buy Wellies.

....The steps lead up to a narrow boardwalk....think this continued to the banks.....

....there was a row of a few of them together, about 10 or so....

......and this one is for the Punkster. Just climbed up the bank, looked through the gap in the trees and there they were, begging me to take the pic. I realise from past posts my pics seem a little darker on your screens, so you may wanna tweak the brightness up for a couple of minutes to see these pics. All shot on 400asa film, which in my opinion has given nicer resuelts than the 200 used previously. This was essentially my final run for the English Heritage pics I'll be taking soon, just me making sure I can use the camera and get decent results every time. From this batch I'm confident of that.

And finally, a view backover to show them in their glory. As this is pretty much the mouth of the river, when the tide comes in the river comes right up to that grass bank - about 10 feet or so. All those dark mounds on the mud bank are little piles of seaweed - useful for stepping stones so you don't sink! Catcha, guys! (",)

So the river washed away the boats and the peir. Wow. I like the green in the first pic. I think this was too much for my modem I'm getting the red exes. I'll have to try to see this again at work. Bsteph

LOL! Jordy didn't anyone tell you wellies are an essential part of a photographers equipment?! Nice project, I like the darkness too although some seem a little to dark to me.I love that touch of blue in the reflection of the sky in the second one really brings the image to life & contrasts with the darkness of the foreground. Some of these have an abstract feel to them with the shapes & patterns of the staithes, nice work ; )

It's worth a look just for the opening shots of beauties like what you captured in your 4th shot. Good pics all of them...you don't own wellies? I thought they would be mandatory in England? ;-)>

YI Jordyart, another fine day in England I c. Not sure about these pictures, a nice record of the place, but I think you need to get down with your wellies the old wide angle lens and get down if you know what I mean, I think the boat would make a terrific forground subject with a dramatic sky. :o)
