Subject: Lighting Woes-- need validation or a pill or something

I go over, I select a light set. My cursor crosses the document window in trying to get to the render menu and the light set changes!!?? What does this? I have been rendering for awhile now, and there are a lot of lights jammed in that teensy white sphere, but I never had it do this before. And I'm punchy trying to get this rendered for the fourteenth-- closer to the 25th-- time, to do that depth of field thingey, and sometimes I can't tell if the dang lights have changed form the window. But I go back and apply the preset [if I can remember it] and sure enough it changed just as my cursor crossed the righthand upper corner of the document window. Has anyone else had this happen or am I just cursed? Again. Emily I used to have a printer that would only work correctly if I was not in the room. Honestly.

you got me on this, lighting isn't something I work on in poser. I render in vue.

try deleting all lights except one infinite and start over.you may be trying out too many light sets.i've done this in the past and the light sets start freaking out.

I thought you couldnt' delete the lights once they were loaded. I work in Poser 4.03, not Pro. Emily

you can delete them one at a time a real pain when using global sets.there's a little trash can icon next to the lighting globe, just click on the light you want to delete then click trash can.click yes on popup.if using global light sets the only thing i've found is save scene with only one infinite light and when you want to delete global set just delete your scene and reload it.

I get a little scared of saving and restarting a scene when its cooking, because I've had too many scenes come back all screwed up-- textures baked on the skin, poses gone. Have to start over. This was my first two character scene and I was scared of losing it once I got it right. Sorta right, anyway. Plus it was in an inclosed space and maneuvering stuff in that was exhausting. Anyway, as long as I don't cross the document window with the cursor, it doesn't go wonky. Maybe I'm turning a light on by passing over it. I'm certainly not clicking. Thank you everybody for workarounds. Emily

you can also save it as a pz3 and then import.
