Anyone had any luck hiding and unhiding parts of a figure with a Pose file?

I'm not sure I completely understand your problem but if you select a body part go to Object then go to Properties there is a checkbox that allows you to uncheck to make a body part invisible.

yep, or you can go to the heirachy window if you want to hide alot and just uncheck them there. Sharen

Duddly, Traveler has made a set of utility poses which do exactly what you want: make different parts of a figure invisible or visible again. There are also pose files for turning the IK's off and on again. Go check out Morph World :)

I know you can hide and unhide in properties or the hierarchy editor. What I am trying to do is make it easier for the end user of my current project. The convertible will come with two different sets of rims and tires and trim options for both GT or standard trim. I was hoping that when they used the MAT file to change the texture that coincide with each option that it could hide and unhide the necessary trim that went with them as well.

Thanks Eowyn (and Traveler), that was exactly what I needed and shows me how to do it. Its actually easier than I thought. Now whenever a user will decide he (or she) wants the convertible to be a Blue GT with white stripes when it is currently a Red Standard trim Convertible they'll just have to use the MAT pose and walla, instant GT.
