Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 26 6:57 am)
Hi !
I think that you did what we would all do : a fresh installation of VUE4. You even reloaded your OS, so there shouldn't be any system related problem.
many MAC users of VUE have reported bugs, problems and random crashes... most of us here use PCs, I hope that there will be a least one other Mac user that can help you.
If not then you should contact e-on directly.
Bryce works perfectly on MAC, so if you have to go back...

Hi Randy, You should be hearing from Steve Bell sometime soon, however be prepared with step-by-step information and possibly some screenshots. Your problem sounds very much like a video card issue (but what do I know, Im a sales guy). Also, check your drivers for that video card. Video card manufacturers have gotten into the bad habit of shipping whatever the currently available drivers are, including beta drivers. Could be that. Best regards, Lynn Fredricks e-on software
Hello Lynn, That would be great to hear from Mr. Bell. I am really stumped on this but I suspect you are right on the video card issue. It would make sense, I guess, with whats happening to the dialog boxes. It must be a driver issue with ATI and Vue. I have taken some screen shots of some of the problems. I really hope to get this worked out soon. I have a big project for a client that I would love to use this for. Its, in fact, the reason I ordered Vue. I have been using Bryce since its first version but am wanting to switch to Vue for good. From what I have seen while messing with it is extremely impressive. Thank you so much for your time and fast reply to my post. Randy Earles Imagine That Studios www.nowimaginethat.com
I have on other piece of info I might not of mentioned before on the rainbow text and such. All of these problems (except for the random crashes) do not happen under the other versions of Vue 4. They only happen when I update to 4.06. So now I am thinking its not a mac or OsX problem but maybe with the updater. I have even tried redownloading the updater and unstuffing it in different ways. Same problem each time when I update. All of the bugs I have mentioned come back. Could be wrong on the updater, not trying to place blame anywhere, just want to get it figured out.
The rainbow/pastel text and the random loss of control icons in the workspace windows is known to e-on and I've been told they are being worked on. One note about the control icons--although they are not visible (sometimes), they are still there and usable. Move your cursor into the area where they normall are located and your cursor will change to acknowledge you are over that specific control. You can then rotate or otherwise change the element as if the controls were visible.

I am having really weird and bad problems . I just got Vue and installed it then ran the 4.06 update. I am running in OS X on a G4 with an ATI Radeon card. When I open a dialog box (such as the one to import an object) all of my type is different rainbow-like colors. The prgram also has random crashes and when I select an object to edit it, the handles or controls for it are invisible. I have tried fresh installs of my system and Vue. I have tried the incremental updates to 4.06 and a the full update only. All to no avail. Smae problem each time. I also turn off all of the openGL options each time. Any ideas so I dont have to go back to Bryce???
