bh404 wins the contest with image 21! Congratulations! We're in the selection process for a new them to the next contest. Many thanks to Digital Carvers Guild for sponsoring the last contest and thanks to all the judges for having to pick from so many good images. Excellent contest everybody! -Kix cooldude.gif

Thank you very much, I had much fun working with this scene in the contest as it's one of my favorite themes. First time I've really won anything. Again thanks :)

Congrats, bh404 -- I'm really impressed with your stuff. There were some amazing entries, too. I don't envy the judges this time around. Also, I'm impressed that there were so many RDS entries; for an old orphan package, it's still able to produce some incredible images. - Dex

Good job bh404, I can tell a lot of work went into both your scenes. I'm not sure, I may like your other entry a little better than the one they chose. Way to go!

Tell me about it. If it wasn't for the fact that there's similar features and still some plug-ins for it I would've moved on to Carrara by now. I'm probably the scarse few that's still using a RDS version earlier than 5.5.

Congratulations. I also like image 31 better... Great texture work! The pavement and sidewalks textures add a lot of realism to the scene. Did you make them yourself or are they pictures?

bh404 ( ) posted Wed, 05 June 2002 at 7:38 PM

The sidewalk texture was done by using a texture map of concrete then it was place in a a mix operator with squares pattern in the color channel. The road texture I found on the net which was heavily altered in Photoshop.
