Can I just say, first I hope you find it, second any watermark or marking of any kind can be altered and rigged to take it off. I wish I could say it would help, but we have tried and it doesn't seem to matter, someone always can change it and remove it.....but I do wish you the best, if you find a way, could you share the advise? Sharen
You cannot depend on someone elses encoding. if you program in c++ etc you can set this up yourself.(else pay someone that has this type of experience.) There are lottsa books on the subject. you should check them out. a starting point would be "digital copyright protection" - peter wayner isbn 0-12-788771-7. even this book doesn't tell you everything you need to know. By the way, doing this type of thing is the one thing I would charge an arm and a leg to do, so don't ask.
You could place a password on your zipped models. that way you can at least force people to go to your site to get the password from you personally by e-mail. And it might be possible to track down the IP-adresses of those people. And If you see your models on a site you might be able to check if it's one of the people who have been to your site for the password. And if those people haven't got the models from your site, you can contact them and ask them where they got he models and if nessecary you can take action against the people who provided the models illigally. Don't ask me how to do that though, because I don't know how to do that. But someone else might know.

Hi all
For last couple of months I`v been putting together 3D related web site.
I`m going to have some models for free and some models sets for sale.
These are models that I have created.
I need to place some type of watermark on the models to prove ownership or copywrite.
My question is ,is there any freeware, shareware,or inexpensiveware that can do this on a .OBJ file?
