Welcome to the Poser Technical Forum.
Where computer nerds can Pull out their slide rules and not get laughed at. Pocket protectors are not required. ;-)
This is the place you come to ask questions and share new ideas about using the internal file structure of Poser to push the program past it's normal limits.
New users are encouraged to read the FAQ sections here and on the Poser forum before asking questions.

You'll need a text editor that can handle large files: i.e. not Notepad. Follow the link to my stuff on text file hacking for more help - one of the pages is about pointing to a different .obj (or the right one, in this case :-) ). Another tip: locate the troublesome .obj file in the Geometries folder, then delete the .rsr file that has the same name. NOT the .obj! And NOT the .rsr in the library folder! Then open Poser, and in a blank workspace call up your figure/prop/whatever by itself. Poser converts the .obj to its own internal .rsr format the first time you use an item, and sometimes the .rsr gets corrupted. This procedure forces Poser to re-make the .rsr for you. This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. Our own cookies make user accounts and other features possible. Q: Why do I get "out of memory" errors? A: This error has nothing to do with your computer's memory. It occurs because the .CR2 file can't find the .obj file it has listed in the two "pointer" lines. Check the two lines in the .CR2 file to see where it says the .obj should be. If it's wrong; Either change the two pointers in the .CR2 to the correct location. Or move the .obj file into the folder the .CR2 is looking for it. i read this in the technical forum. how do I do this? i get that message often and when i do poser locks up on me.
