Subject: File Format Problem

DangerKitty ( ) posted Tue, 11 June 2002 at 1:45 PM ยท edited Thu, 15 August 2024 at 9:24 PM

I downloaded Robin Wood's beautiful free rose and can't figure out exactly how to install it. The install file was a .sit file (generally a Mac format, right?) and once I downloaded the program that would unpack it I thought I was home free... But alas, I've got a textures folkder, an .obj file, and a .mtl file. Is the .mtl the actual prop file? If so, do I need to do something to convert it in order to use it? I think I've managed to confuse myself, so any help would be appreciated.

it's not a prop... only an object & must be imported directly into poser. file--->import----> Wavefront object once there you can assign the textures with the materials editor & then save it to a props folder note: mtl is a material file & is just used to remember texture settings

Where did you get the rose? Sharen

Sharen, originally it was posted in freestuff here. I don't know if it still is but it was one of 4 that were offered up around the same time (about 2 years ago?) If not here maybe it can still be obtained from Ms Woods' site. I don't have the link anymore but I'm sure someone else does :-)

Oh, and Sharen, I got the rose from freestuff. Search for rose and it's on the last page.
