I just got Vue d'Esprit 2.0. Is it possible to import poser figures into a scene? Just done a desert island with a coconut tree. I can imagine a girl laying beneath the shade.

Hi,

Yes you can, but unfortunately not with the direct poser import (only available in VUE4).

to get a poser model in VUE 2 :

  • save your poser file as a Wavefront OBJ file.
  • import it in your VUE scene.
  • load and edit all the texture and bump maps separately.

go to the link above, there's a tutorial about importing poser models in VUE3 (it should work also for VUE2).

I can only get VUE2 to import dxf files but not obj files - so no textures. Looks like I'll only be able to use VUE2 for backgrounds and window views. Amazing program though.

Vue 2 imports OBJ files, but as Eric said, you have to map them by hand. Guitta

I use Vue 2 and poser and everything else, but it takes a lot of work and time.

I just tried to load a object file into VUE2.
Objects - Import objects - myfile.obj.
Then I get message Unable to read file.
The only file types allowed are vob, dxf and raw.

Vue 2.1 imports OBJ files without problem. I have just tried. If you have Vue 2.0 upgrade to Vue 2.1. The only problems I encounter is with Poser 4 figures. Poser 3 figures imports fine as OBJ. Guitta

Thank you very much. Just upgraded to Vue2.1 and able to import .OBJ files, but as gebe says not Poser4 files. Maybe its the size? Have to get my Poser3 disc out to try.

My suggestion would be to save the beach scene and use it as a background in Poser. Or try using it with infinity cove backdrop thing in Poser so you can make it look more realistic and your model can look more "in the picture".
