Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 05 5:33 pm)
open the pz3 file into poser then (if there is more than one character) select the character in the scene and save it to any folder in the figures library by clicking on the + sign at the bottom of the library drawer. A thumbnail will be created from the view of the scene, so pose the figure how you want it's thumbnail to look. That's all.
That works. But the difference between a PZ3 and a CR2 is that the former also has lights, cameras, document presets. someone else's focal lengths, lights, shadow maps All of the scene stuff can be deleted from the first section and the sketch render document data from the very end. Poser 3 would not save more than one figure in a CR2, so a PZ3 was the only way to save a complex figure. I got my start in text editing library files by cleaning up PZ3 files converted to CR2.
Hiya... You need to delete large chunks from the pz3 and resave into your library as cr2 with a text editor such as Notepad. This is quite a process... I can't describe exactly which sections to remove at the moment... I'm at work. In the next update to PBooost, this will be one of the many new features.... ripping cr2s from pz3s. Won't be long!!! Howard:)

Can anyone please tell me how to convert PZ3 files to CR2 files.
