I sorta remember the Dragon-- think it was a lot cheaper but not free. [Oh well, if I downloaded it then, it;s long gone now. that was at least four computers back.] I also remember thinking-- I'll never use a dragon. Pause for laugher, I have at least three?? now. I don't recall the Dragon ever being a freebie, however the subject of past DAZ3d/Zygote freebies came up over at 3D commune a while back (I don't remember what forum or I'd include a link :-). But at the time I threw together a list from my archives so for your amusement here it is... FWIW, the camel, gremlin, and some fairy character are all free on the disc with a recent issue of 3D World. So if you missed them free before and haven't bought them, see if you can get that issue, #25. In fact, it's the newest one here in America and you may still be able to find it right at Barnes and Noble or wherever. If not, try getting the back issue from their site: http://www.3dworldmag.com

Boy, many items in that list sound very familiar. In fact, I probably downloaded a great deal of them. Now they're probably on some forgotten CD in my collection.

lol...I've downloaded a lot...some I skipped(feel stupid now!) I got the charger, and I came in on the tale end of the camel. I wonder...what this will be.... The tradition that they are stating....hrm...think it will be another man? or maybe a fish....?

A loRes Mike would be great. LoRes is all I use anymore... anything else locks my puter.

I don't think it will be lowres mike, if you read the message carefully it mentions freebies that were totally unique at the time, so a lowres anything is probably out of the question, if it's free I want it, if they want me to pay for it I want it, says a lot for the Daz3D quality. Rob

I find no incentive or interest in using Lo-Res characters, but I've rarely used P4 versions of Mike or Vicky either. I wanted Mike and Vicky for a long time so I could get quality models. I don't want a step backward. Yes, I downloaded them, and will keep them. But I don't see a need for them yet.

The only HiRes part of a figure I need is the head/face. Locked-up computers are no fun.

Ron, actually I've been using the low res version a lot lately... they're great for any non-close up work, and they take up less ram. (heck they're not even bad for close ups.) Doug

I know that the Bigfoot (Sasquatch) had been a freebie once, but I discovered Zygote too late to get that one. I don't remember the dragon ever being free. It cost something like $99 when it first came out and finally came down to $75. Wow, they've sure given away a lot of goodies. Whatever the next one is, I know it'll be a good one. I got the bigfoot free with the poser pro book by Rik schrand, it's a good book and only cost me 30. Rob

The dragon's regular price is down to $59.95 now (and even less with the 30%-off sale). I see that DAZ finally started selling the Mac version of Mimic. Neat!

I got the lores vicky...but eh...haven't need them...I don't put many stock people in my pics...I usually use the p3 man or woman...can you get more low res... I predict it will be........I don't know...what hasn't daz done?

I'd forgotten all about this thread :) It I remember correctly both the Millenium Dragon & the Gorilla came out as freebies, can't remember which was first tho.
