recently i've been trying to create backgrounds for my poser renders. I've downloaded props like buildings and such, but i can't figure out how to create an actual background image like a water scene or beach. I've tried importing images and pasting them to the background, but it all still looks flat and with no real depth. what can i do to make a good background. thanks!

the easy way would be to but Nerds back drop tool and or the Cyclorama (did i get that name right?) from DAZ ..i like things easy so bought both and am happy ;o)...Steve

the infinity cove over at runtime dna is also good for backgrounds and I'm sure there's another over at posercity, my advice get them all if you can afford it. The ones at rdna and pc are freebies. Rob

Also trying trav's cyclorama thingy from runtimedna, again a freebie, but like Steve says my fav is Nerds, use it all the time, put bryce images on it, so its still all my own work.

You can use Vue or Bryce to create gorgeous backgrounds (and Vue has direct importing of Poser figures). If you are a bit short on cash (like most artists), you can download Terragen for free. It will give you nice scenery (and I think the clouds look more realistic). Any of these backgrounds can be added to a plane or series of planes or curved surfaces (the coves, backdrops, and cycloramas mention above). If you make your own background, you have control over the color and placement of the lights. You can then match the lighting on your Poser figures and props so that everything fits together naturally. Carolly
