Subject: Strange PNG problem!!!

Philywebrider ( ) posted Sun, 16 June 2002 at 3:54 AM · edited Mon, 27 January 2025 at 7:51 AM

I bought two packages on Renderosity. 1) Both packages have PNG images, and PZ2, RSR files for each item. 2) One package shows all the images in the library, but gives the message " The file has a newer version number than expected..." 3) the other package doesn't give any messages, but only three of the five images show in the library, two show the shuggung figure, I'm using Poser 4 with the 4.03 upgrade. I don't know what's going on, any ideas? signed Confused

  1. PNG images are used by Poser Pro Pack. RSR files are used by older versions of Poser. In your case you can delete the PNG files. 2) The message "The file has a newer..." is probably because it was made with Poser Pro. If you open the pz2 file in a text editor you see at the top: version { number 4.01 } Your file probably has a different number but change it to a number less or equal to your Poser version. The message will not show up again. 3) This also happens to me sometimes. It means the RSR is corrupt. To get a picture do the following: - Load your "ghost" figure (and in case of a pz2, apply the "ghost" pose) - Save it to the library using the name of the "ghost" figure or pose. Hope you are less confused now Henk

Do you have P3DO explorer? If not, follow the link Render a 91 x 91 picture of your figure and save it as a jpg with the same name as your pz2. Then in P3DO you can convert the jpg to rsr. This should work Henk

P3Do has a plugin that can convert png to rsr and the other way around!

Are the files installed in a subfolder of the folder? That can mess things up.

Hi gladiator I know about P3do, what I thought was strange was that both packages had PNG, and RSR, and PZ2, and one package showed correct library images, and the other package showed three correct images, and two shrugging figures. I was told about loadind and, saving to create an RSR, (it worked before),but this time nothing happened. I still had the shrugging figure. Hi hogwarden No subfolder of the package folder.

Make sure you have a .RSR file attached to each poser file with Windows Explorer. If the problem remains mail me one of the "shrugging" .RSR and I'll tell you if it is a valid .RSR or not. yarp@senosoft.com
