I think this is sorta the effect that they were talking about for a motion trail. notice the 'blurriness' of the ghost in the air. I also added a lens flare and some other misc. effects in photoshop... hope this helps a little Gecko

Ok, I see the idea. I really don't like doing postwork..I prefer to do everything in bryce, but I had been trying to figure out how to blur the outline of the floating ghost in bryce.. any ideas? Thanks for helping, Rosh

Make a second ghost at about 5% bigger on each dimension then turn the transparency up, maybe up to 90 or so. That might give you the look you need.

Thanks, crescent. I'll try that. Rosh

Rosh, Unfortunately there is no one program that "does it all." While it is convenient to work within one prog, you will most certainly be left with some less attainable effects hed you used another prog. After all, and I've heard this a thousand times, it is the finished product that matters...not so much the methods used. Post processing is as much a necessity to the art world as it is for the auto painter who does a detailed touchup with an airbrush instead of a spraygun. Just some thoughts. Regards, - Art -

I know, but my main outlook is that I avoid doing postwork processing if at all possible.. and since the motion trail isn't really what I want, I don't see a reason to do it. What I would rather have is a edge blur.. I might try that with postwork, but only if I've exhausted other options. Rosh

I am more and more inclined to agree with Art each day, yet, I find a great pleasure in deriving something from nothing. It is the the biggest part of the artist's goal to create, not polish. If you convey the idea without explaning it outright you have made a fine work of art. Go for it in Bryce I say. If you dare. Anvil.
