I had a real hard time with this latest image, I couldn't seem to find the right lighting. I was trying to go for this kind of dark, eerie abandonned look. Please let me know what I can do to improve this. Title: "Unfinished Bathroom" P.S. I also think the title could be rewritten, but that's a judgement call you'll have to make.

Well it looks like the light is coming from above, maybe if you make it the light to angle going up from the ground and change the color to a grey light....Sharen

Sharen, How would I go about doing this?

Place you light towards the bottom or ground, spotlight, then angle it up, rotate it upwards depending on Bryce 4 or 5, what you are using, you can get the properties of the light by clicking on the light, click E, and edit the light from there, choosing the color there also, that is in Bryce 4....Sharen

The spider looks a little large to me (IIEEEE! Giant spider! Run away!) but it gave me an idea. How about adding spiderwebs to your pic? If you search "All free stuff" here keyword: spiderweb - there's a nice .3ds object there. A few of these around your room would add to the abandoned look your going for. As for a different title, how about "The Bad Old Days" or "Old West Bathroom"? BTW, I'm still looking for the "Rain" texture to show up in one of your posts. Great start to the pic in question!

This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

tjohn, I did download the "spiderweb" object, but when I placed it in my picture, it looked like crap! The 3ds object comes with a generic grey texture, and I could never get it to look right, so I didn't place any in there. If you know of a great web texture, let me know and I'll sprinkle a few around this pix. Sorry about the size of the spider, but I was going for the obnoxiously huge look. I tinkered with the idea of naming this pix "Upscale Western Bathing", but didn't know if it sounded okay.

I tend to agree with SAMS3d (sharen) - I think its a lighting thing. Maybe put a roof on the bathroom (to cut the sky light getting in from above, and try different lighting angles with a spotlight or something - mainly thinking lighting the scene from a point closer to the ground. A slight/small amount of fog or some other foggy volume material may also help a bit in the abandoned look.

You might try a snow mate for the spider webs and increase the transparency on it to simulate the fineness of the web. And ugh! I HATE spiders!!!
