I just downloaded some poser files from poserworld.com, and ever since I did that I cant open up poser, it says that I'm outta memory! I have 1.5gig of ddr ram installed. I did a clean system recovery and intstalled poser over again, but it still says the same thing. I also saw something stating to go in geometry and removing the bad obj file, how do I know which is bad? please help me! quick!

Hi It could be this Often the 'rsr' file in the geometries folder gets corrupted. the out of memory error is what you get when this happens. Delete any that belong to the files you downloaded. You can do this safely. Poser will rebuilt thes rsr files again when you load the figure/s in. :) Helen

Also sometimes your obj file is in the wrong place. When that happens to me I write down the path it says on the error message then make sure i find the object file and put it precisely where that path said it should be.

This may help .... Everytime a program crashes and has to be reloaded you should first clean up the register in the operating system. I assume you are in W2000. Fixit 2000 and Norton Systemworks does this job rather nicely.

thanks everyone, but I wont be able to find the dowloaded file, because i don't remember what it was. I did full unistall of poser and reformated the drive! how come that doesnt get rid of it?

The only time I've had it happen, the obj file was in the wrong place, check the read me carefully. Poserworld uses a lot of different files. Tashar 59

open your cr2 file in notepad, or maybe in another editor, and look for the the lines that tell the cr2 which geometry to use. there should be 2 of those lines. Then either change the lines to point at the geometry file you need, or move the geometry file to the folder it specifies. For example, if you have obja.obj in the imbroke folder, and the cr2 calls for figureResFile:Runtime:Geometries:Notbroke:obja.obj ; then you could either a- move obja.obj into the notbroke folder or b- edit the cr2 to be figureResFile:Runtime:Geometries:imbroke:obja.obj . I believe if you read the poser technical FAQ on this forum it might have more details.

Layzahr Are you say you can't start poser or are you say you can't load the Figure or Prop into Poser? If you are not starting Poser 1) Operating System? 2) Hard Drive(s) size and free? 3) Temp location ? 4) do you get a error? and if so what is the error ? 5) What Service Pack is installed? If you can't load the figure into Poser 1) do what everyone say here.

The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.
