'If you can get a picture of it you can make it into a set!'

The Poser Studio is a collection of three props that have been made into Poser characters to form a system to make the creation of sets for your Poser scenes quick and easy! Use construction kits and other props to create truly elaborate sets!

The main part of the system is the GroundPlane and the BackPlane which provide the unique layered surfaces to allow you to use a variety of texture (image) maps to create floor and wall surfaces. You can either apply the textures manually or use MAT Pose files to texture your sets.

The system also includes a Panel figure that uses the same system of layers as the GroundPlane and BackPlane. The Panel figure was included to serve as a utility prop for quickly setting up a screen type background. It can also be used for partitions or other architectural or thematic designs. Also, because it features the same layered construction as the BackPlane and GroundPlane Props it can host a variety of images and provide a very low resolution alternative to such items as trees or other forms of organic models which make for notoriously large models.

Also included are five beautifully constructed rooms to demonstrate the versatility of the this system. All were created with simple texture maps applied to the different layers on the surfaces.

The system includes:

The BackPlane Prop
The GroundPlane Prop
The Panel Prop

5 Complete Sets in PZ3 format

4 Lighting Presets

User Guide and Tutorial Guide
both in HTML format

Set creation has never been easier!!!

Big thanks to Dave71 for making the props into Poser Figures and to Karanta, Turtle and Tamela for sharing their talent in creating sets and textures for the project :)

Ahh, Clever. So as figures, Mat poses could be created to apply various textures for the set right?

My feeling is that the PZ3 file would still be the best way to redistribute the set because not only will it preserve the texture/layer assignments but also the scaling of the props, additional scene elements and lighting. MATs will be a great way however of allowing alternate texturing of whatever room/set you create.

Fantastic!! Soon? I hope! For that matter we could layer poser scenes-- rendering a deep one and then using it as background-- possible?? Emily

Richabri ( ) posted Wed, 19 June 2002 at 8:45 PM

That would be possible queri because it doesn't matter which image is applied to the prop. Also, you are not limited to using only one BackPlane. You could surround a set with three different images or if you use transparency mapping on the front plane(s) you could stack them. I also thought of using rendered Poser characters on the Panel Prop as well. This way you could really populate a scene with these low resolution alternatives to actual Poser models :)
