Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 22 10:18 pm)
I'm grateful for the flag for non-commercial use only (although I'm still not always clear whether that means that RENDERS using the item are OK for commercial use or verboten). I've decided I just can't keep track and throw away any download that forbids commercial use, just in case the issue comes up one day. I'd much rather not have to download a big file and consult the read-me.
Ok.. I thought of Standalone as props, new clothes and new figures, all things that aren's in some way part of an existing figure. Maybe I'm wrong, but this is how I've labelled mine anyway

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
Well it set all of my stuff to non commercial use. So I had to go and change everything. A woderfully slow process on a dial up connection. More options is better though. :)

Clearer explanation of standalones. I stick with Ron's definition: things bringing their own geometry are about the only category I can think of that qualifies as 'standalones.' If we base the dividing line on things for default P4 items there'll be hell to pay when P5 comes out (as well as confusing P3 owners here).
To clear things up a bit, the P3/P4/Pro/P5 refers to things like hair, characters, lighting presets that come with those applications, not which version they're for. A Python script to change lighting, for example, would be "All Files Included," not "Pro Pack." A Python script to change Vicky's dimensions would be "Commercial here / elsewhere." A pose for one of the cartoon people that come with Pro Pack would be "Pro Pack." See the difference? Kozaburo's hair remaps for Male Hair would be "P4," his original hair pieces would be "All files included," and my morphs for the original hair would be "Freestuff here / elsewhere."

Anyone else noticed the changes to freestuff? looks like a few new options to play with when uploading good work guys/girls Rob
