Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 26 1:43 pm)
I noticed that a critical comment was posted in the Gallery about the head. Here is how I did it..... What you saw is based on the rendered face of the Poser bimbo which in this instance is the famous Nene... scanned eyes, mouth, nose and hair are perfectly positioned, color matched and composited onto the lifeless facial rendering. It's really little different then composting the same parts onto a texture map except my approach is particular to the pose. This sort of thing is done in Kai's Goo and a couple of professional applications so nothing is new here except the very large size of source image. Remember I rendered the Poser bimbo to a height of 3,000 pixels and scanned the source photo at 600 dpi. This is MUCH larger then the texture maps being used here so the resolution of the eyes and othe features is much/much better then what can be done with a texture map.
The face is excellent, but you need to bring out the shadows under the chin and where the hair overlaps the neck area. A few swipes with a photoshop burn tool and a fuzzy brush will bring the shadows in nicly. Also you may want to smooth the line a little between the leg and hip, I just started to do that myself with some good results.
The head and positioning are good but you may want to slightly increase the size of the head by about 8%. That way, the head will be closer to proper proportion, the chin will be covered and the neck won't look so thick. Just a suggestion and your work is good. You did an EXCELLENT job of matching skin tones and the attitude (read positioning) of the head.
I wonder if anyone read Christine's explaination of how this image was made? The head IS the Poser figure's head..it was not composited into the image. Only the parts of the face were composited..."pasted on" eyes, mouth, nose and hair. The "problems" everyone's mentioning are Poser's problems. I do have to agree, thou, that a little touchup on the chin might be in order...that "bump" there just doesn't look right. Otherwise, this is just plain amazing work! Foxhollow
