Actually, Renderosity is clearly the ideal place to search for Poser artists. To suggest that this thread was merely a covert attempt to promote his site is, at best, simply not well thought out.

It is not our custom here to browbeat people who come to Renderosity seeking to hire artists. If you are not interested in his topic or the work, recognize that others may be and please just move along without the unnecessary aspersions and personal insults.

acevans, as you can see, its a big board with broadly diverse opinions and our own share of cranks. Thank you for posting your request here. I'm sure you'll receive some interesting replies.

AC - I may not know much about how porn sites are run, but I do know a little on how graphic artists and their clients do business. What's typically done is a contract is drawn up with an agreed amount of money, the client(you)provides exact specifications of what is expected from the artist. Sometimes a mockup is done and also revisions are part of the contract until the client is satisfied. The artist will ask for a per project amount or more typically a per hour charge. I believe your unprofessional attitude and lack of experience in dealing with graphic artists might tend to rub people the wrong way. Hopefully the person you find to do this job has enough sense to go through all the proper steps of negotiation so there won't be any surprises (or court cases) involved.

People here do have a habit of attacking others. Whether it be accusing one another of using warez or jumping in and telling people what they can and can't resell or just mouthing off about copyrights. The sad thing is that a lot of times the loudest people don't have a clue as to what they're talking about. Still, all in all, Renderosity is a positive environment for artists. That said... the example picture provided in the original poster's link is rather amateurish. Any number of people here could do work at that level (and far beyond). How many pictures will be required and what is the pay rate. If you post in a public forum like this, you have to expect to answer basic questions like that. , fgeorge

I personally have nothing against most porn sites...they have beautiful pictures and they have garbage. if you believe in free speech then you need to just ignore the stuff that offends you, not attack it. if you are an activist against porn (and so then, free speech) you need to go get a job with a polical action lobby group. This is an artists site and the guy needed to find out if this might be a place to look. So, he/she is into erotica...so what? so am I... granted a more professional approach might be taken more seriously but geeze, don't confuse the issues.

Jeez.... What the heck is everyone going on about? This guy wasn't recuiting to his "porn site"...he just asked if anyone would be interested in making some pictures for him. Sometimes you all seem to forget that not everyone has the your working knowledge of the right or the wrong way to do things. You know, I really like it here, and I feel like I learn a lot here. But sometimes somea you regulars come off like you've been sitting on a branch waiting for someone to slip and give you something to pounce on with derision and name-calling, etc. I don't know this person, but you all oughtta give a little slack.
