Subject: On Zip file coruption

Lately, I have been having a problem with my zip uploads being corrupted as reported by my product tester. I find this odd as they work fine on my machine and none of my beta testers have reported this error. In order to properly discern why this is happening, I needed to know if there was an inordinately high volume of corrupted zip files. The other problem could be winzip version numbers. I use the latest version of Winzip and I have read on some websites that this might be a backwards compatability issue. Terri

My webhost would coorrupt almost every single product zip I uploaded. And they weren't a free host either. Now that I'm using an alternate host and have given my testers ftp privledges rather than providing them with a download link, I haven't had a problem. Just for the WIW dept.

What we do in life, echoes in eternity.

That would make sense if my beta testers were reporting the same problem, but its only the product testers at the Market place that are reporting this. I know all my beta testers use the most current version of Winzip because of the issue of backwards compatability. My main concern was to determine if it was the winzip issue, or if the marketplace upload form was corrupting the zip files.

Which product is this? You may just be getting partial uploads.

Jeff Texture packs. They usually run about 8-10 mgs. Right now I've reuploaded my White tiger texture pack, waiting to see if it is corrupted as well. The new zip file tested fine on my machine and both beta testers said it functioned normally.

The file would only corrupt if the transmission was interupted before it finished.
