It's not as if I don't have enough to do. I've got Genesis Space Station, Dark Wars, Pieces and now Row. Not to mention I'm in pre production on a feature film and trying to get my novel published and just about to release my Video. I guess I can't be accused of having idle hands. Anyway, I wrote up this backstory for a character for a friend. They decided they couldn't use it because it was too dark, but I liked the story so much that... well... I used all the tools on this one, Poser 4.0 (with patch), Bryce 4.0, Carrara (mostly for modeling some small things), Corel Photo Paint 8,and Strata Mediapaint. Enjoy! Very nice AA. I particularly like your use of montage to tell the back story. Gee why would I say that? :-) I would say you set yourself an interesting problem in portraying how the curse works. Look forward to seeing your unique solution. Now if you could just think of something to do with all that idle time on your hands. heh jje

Intriguing. Nice use of perspective on some of those pages!

A.A. well written as usual... I don't know how you juggle so many damn projects at once...:) Jace's Planet and Bridgeworld are taxing me to my limits.. so much so that I may tie them together. (been doing a lotta rewriting of old stuff) I think that Row has elements in common with Pieces but I like the different (and sorcerous) direction. Chinese mythology has a lot of strength and power and I am interested in seeing you plumb its depths. Looking forward to see more. While I was there I went ahead and reread the Short story section. There is something of Fritz Leiber and Zelazny in the Pendella trilogy. It seems to me that you could write a few more with a story arc and collate them into a short story collection not unlike Zelaznys "Dilvish the Damned" all tied together in Dilvishs case by his vendetta against the sorceror Jelerak. keep up the good work Tartan :) "You know captain they say that time is the fire in which we burn" (only decent scene in Star Trek Generations;)

Thanks for the kind words fellow babies! Tartan Your literary observations are very astute. Although I'm not purposely trying to mimic either Leiber or Zelazny's style they're two of my favorite authors. In fact I'm reading "Creatures of Light and Darkness" now. In addition I have taken the three short stories you read along with about seven others to produce my first novel entitled, "The Sorcerer's Song and The Cat's Meow". I formated the collection like... FRITZ LEIBER! Particularly his Fafred and the Grey Mouser series. The last story is actually a Novella and ties everything together. Orginally I was going to go the traditional route of trying to obtain an agent and/or publisher, but I just don't have the time. I've sent the manuscript off to one of the electronic publishing houses (they were reviewed in Time magazine) and I'm hoping they pick it up. If it's popular enough maybe a print publisher will pick it up. Anyway a lot of good calls (almost eire I'd say) on your part. Regards, Arthur
