Subject: Saving model out of UV Mapper

I have a question about the UV mapper program. After I'm done remapping my .obj figure where do I save the .obj file to so it will still have the same posing functions as the previous figure?

Keep in mind that the 'posability' is not actually in the OBJ file. THe only requirement here is that the groups remain and this is done in UVMapper by defualt. So essentially save it in the same place as the original OBJ file but give it a new name. Now to get this to work, you will need to go to the original CR2 file for this figure. Make a copy of it and open it in a text editor. You will see a line that says figureres and a path and file name. Change this name to the new obj file name you saved from UVMapper. After that, scroll down below that first section of actor listings and you will see this figureres line again. Make the same change here and save it. That will give you a new CR2 that is referencing the new OBJ that has your new UV Coordinates.

Thanks, I'll try this tonight, but be prepared for followup questions! :O)

well in this case, if you follow the instructions about renaming and such, the first time using the new cr2 with the new obj, there will not be rsr files. new knew gnu, gee

Where does the new .cr2 file get saved? Can't wait to finish work and try it.

Oh, and what .rsr file am I deleting?

Save the modified .cr2 file (with a different name) in the same place as the original .cr2 file. It will be somewhere in the runtimelibrary folder. When you open up Poser, you'll see a shrugging guy with your .cr2 file name. Just load the file and save it back to the library with a slightly different name. That will give you a real picture for your library. Then delete the originally modified .cr2 file. (Not the original, base .cr2 file.) The .rsr file that you may need to delete is located in the same location as the .obj file. It will be somewhere in the runtimegeometries folder. BTW: Poser is case sensitive. Make sure you use the exact name of the new .obj file in your modified .cr2 file. NewObject.obj is different from newobject.obj. Good luck!
