"RML" is a text based lip synch python script. It generates "phonemes" and then sets facial expression on the P4 characters to animate speech. It does NOT have an audio component (you add that part in yourself). RML will run within Poser Pro or (in this version) it will run as a standalone python script. Note: This is a beta version and will be available for a LIMITED TIME only. I have stabilized RML now and am looking for what to add as far as functionality. The above image shows what the control panel for the NEXT version might look like. I am thinking of adding frame spacing, and possibly facial expressions (blink, smile, frown, ...). The way it would work is that you would select the frame using the slider and click "Apply". Any changes would be layered on top of existing stuff, so that if someone is talking and they need to blink once in a while you wouldn't overwrite their lip movements with eye blinks. ===Underdog===

does the beta have a gui? Sounds like a great tool---i'm looking for something that has more flexibility than mimic. eye blinks would be a huge benefit if you could work it in. facial expressions would also be useful, though i have tons of morphs for that. how much are you thinking about charging?

Hey Underdog, dont you never get some sleep? Your next version sounds very very promising. Let me know if you need "Mac statement". Sascha (the impressed one)

Sascha, have you used the beta on a Mac? Underdog, will the Translate button let you set the interpolation to Linear? Wow, this looks good, expecially since I'm STILL waiting for the promised Mimic PC-to-Mac CD exchange...

Gryffnn, I use RML V0.4b on my Mac which was a little complicated first (see thread link above) but I cannot wait to get my hands on the new version!

I really like this, thank you Underdog. I've been using Mimic since it first came out and have always been very pleased with the result however, your program has several advantages which make it a good tool for a different set of circumstances, i.e. short, conversational animation. I like the fact that I can alter the templates, if I want to. The speed is a definite plus, loading Mimic takes forever and, presumably, other facial ticks could be built in too, I'm thinking of a wink or an exasperated eyebrow raise. Would it be possible to select a user defined template for the expression? Perhaps even be able to select where the expression might be placed on the timeline? I haven't managed to break your application, it seems very solid and well made, thanks again...

whoa folks, the "new" version hasn't been written yet!! I am asking for feedback on what I should put into it. The version you are downloading won't have the expressions or even the frame rate spacing! I hope I haven't misled anyone on this. Thanks for the kind words. I really want to make this a robust application. I had ignored python in Poser for a VERY long time and finally started learning it just as a lark. Python adds a HUGE amount of potential to Poser that I can't believe I overlooked for so long. I hope I can get these features added. Right now I am struggling to figure out how to do the dropdown list box that you see in the illustration. ===Underdog===

gotta have expressions, winks, blinks, nods, smiles, frowns, be nice if it could be extended to neck and shoulders maybe a shrug or two, being able to decide which frame they go on or start on is a good idea. :) Rob
