THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Big new change in how we are voting!!! Points Voting System: --------------------- Each voter is allocated 6 points in which to vote with. Maximum vote = 3 points. Minimum vote = 1 point. Divide your points amongst 3 choices as you see fit, using the above protocol, use all of your 6 points, but do not exceed your total of 6 points. So, in the end, there will be three winning entries, in a first, second and third place. Now...how do you see the entries? Take that link, it will take you to the page that holds this months entries. Look at ALL the entries!! Make your decisions, and come back to this thread to post your votes. Artist names are at the end of the .jpg names, which you will see in the address bar AND the title bar at the very top. That, I hope, is it, lol. Best of luck to everyone, there are some truly awesome entries! AgentSmith

airflamesred ( ) posted Fri, 28 June 2002 at 10:04 AM

pidgy - 3 tjohn - 2 rochr - 1 wouldnt it be better to be able to vote for more than 3 choices (2,2,2 or 3,2,1 are the only alternatives). i know we have had this discussion - just a thought

artEmotions ( ) posted Fri, 28 June 2002 at 10:36 AM

derjimi ...............3 rochr .. 2 pidjy .1 Great work, so good feelings :)

johnpenn ( ) posted Fri, 28 June 2002 at 10:42 AM

pidjy: 3 tjohn: 2 ironbrew: 1 I have to say, now that we are voting for three people, the agony of selection has tripled. Anyway, here's a brief explanations for my votes, in hopes to help out. pidjy: That scorpion is freakin' cool, and the cookies are so real that I overlook the odd looking pencils and tools and the way the cookies seem to float. tjohn nailed a great concept, and the book is tops. It takes a few hard looks to realize that it's not a photo. (one of the giveaways is the author's credit, it is too bright and clean) but it's a real nice render. ironbrew I chose because it's believable. It's clean, yet cluttered, not ultra-sterile. And the black and white struck a nostalgic chord in me, you know, limited palette and all that. Great work everyone!

dan whiteside ( ) posted Fri, 28 June 2002 at 10:53 AM

Everyone did such a great job- was hard to choose: pidjy-3 rochr-2 tjohn-1 Cheers! Dan

Ironbrew=3 big hoovie=2 StephenRay=1 Ironbrew: I had a special reason for liking your pic...My dad was a watchmaker until he retired (he's 84 years old now), so this is a scene that I've seen many times in many ways. This is one of the most unsatisfying votes I've been involved with. It was too hard to narrow down to only three. Well done, everyone! :^)

All entries are great. Using only the criteria of photorealism, these are my picks: Rochr 3 icmgraphics 2 Steven Ray 1

geekette ( ) posted Fri, 28 June 2002 at 7:33 PM

They all are superb, but as a programmer, Coke is it for me; Star Wars decorates my cube and robots fascinate me.
Very difficult to choose from amongst all the great renders, but my choices are:
3 Artistree
2 Pidjy
1 Ajtooley

cshaftoe ( ) posted Fri, 28 June 2002 at 8:13 PM

I was interested to note how many entries had an evening atmosphere about them, as if most people use their desks at night. No one (including me) seemed to recall that most desk are in offices that are used by day. However, Pidjy 3 ...The intricate work on the scorpion did it for me. Derjimi 2 ...that wristwatch is just too real! FWTempest 1 ...the hobbyist's desk ..I've bin there, done that! Nice work. Congrats to everyone. It's gonna take something special to win next month judging by the standard of these entries.

haloedrain ( ) posted Fri, 28 June 2002 at 8:34 PM

AAAACK!!! I can't decide! Ok... 2 StephenRay 2 rochr 2 Erlik I can do that, right? BTW, cool page for all the entries. Kinda weird how they're split in the middle, though...

EricofSD ( ) posted Fri, 28 June 2002 at 8:44 PM

Pidjy... 2 ICMgraphics...2 big_howie...2 Awesome turnout and awesome work. Couldn't decide so I picked three and went even. I busted my butt on this challenge and couldn't even compare to some of those. This is by far the best challenge we've had so far and the most structured. Great job everyone.

foleypro ( ) posted Fri, 28 June 2002 at 9:31 PM

derjimi 3 Rochr 2 Pidjy 1 But I would nominate all for just competeing seems I never get the chance need more than 24hrs in the day I vote for 48...

derjimi ( ) posted Sat, 29 June 2002 at 3:27 PM

Thank you, itsrainin! :) Linkinpark inspired me, because he does so wonderful sphere pictures. And so I did some spheres, too. Later added the watch and then I surprisely was invited to take part of the challenge here. I only wanted to do a sphere picture for LP. :) Thanks again to all who voted for me! Take care, Jimi

*In case any of you (might) be scratching your head...Linkinpark the Renderosity Member, not the rock band, lol. Voting will go on up to and including this coming Monday. (July 1st) AgentSmith

Ironbrew - 3 Erlik - 2 ICMGraphics - 1 It's starting to sound like a cliche, but there was too much good work to choose from. This was so hard! Thanks to those who have voted for me so far, and to those who haven't, I promise not to make voodoo action figures of you!

kaholmli ( ) posted Sun, 30 June 2002 at 6:14 AM

Hard to decide, but here we go: 3 derjimi 2 FWTempest 1 Rochr

dastardly ( ) posted Sun, 30 June 2002 at 9:10 AM

after a lot of time to decide.... 3-Vasquez 2-Rochr 1-tjohn

KingHeroical ( ) posted Mon, 01 July 2002 at 12:17 PM

Rochr - 3 Pidjy - 2 Vasquez - 1 If the challenge weren't specifically 'desktop realism' I'd have to go with Vasquez, but that just might be a soft spot for the Simpsons talking.

shadowdragonlord ( ) posted Mon, 01 July 2002 at 5:15 PM

Aye, awesome images from all of you! ICM - 3 Pidjy - 2 Ironbrew - 1 I should have made something too! (smacks head against monitor)
