Subject: I need serious help...

Today when I was talking with a client, I couldn't help but notice how much better she would look if I took her into Phptpshop and adjusted the RGB curves on her texture a little (to make her look more realistic, this part still bothers me because of the fact that I didn't think she was photorealistic enough 8 ) and maybe tweek the eyebrows a bit. She also really needed to have the 'jaw strong' morph dialed down a bit. This preoccupied me to a degree that I am fortunate that she left detailed discriptions of the work she was asking me to do, 'cause I really lost track of what she was saying. YEESH! Any day now...two guys, white truck...white coats...any day now. ~EA

LOL Wasn't this recently brought up by someone else too? There was a thread about "you know you've been doing too much poser when..." and I think the first one was, "when you see someone in the street and find yourself thinking how 'realistic' their texture is." That sure 'rang a bell' with me. Seems like there's more and more of this 'syndrome' going around. Somebody keep an eye out for them fellers inna white coats, they're gonna be comin' after us ALL. ;o)

Admittedly, when one considers how much some people consist of plastic and makeup, in relation to their "natural" appearances, it's understandable that they might not be thought of as photorealistic.

Michael Jackson, for instance ... are we absolutely certain he isn't computer-generated?

Eowyn ( ) posted Fri, 28 June 2002 at 5:16 PM

Michael Jackson could use a bit of tweaking of the nose, that's for sure...

thebert ( ) posted Fri, 28 June 2002 at 5:48 PM

I think they tweaked Michael Jackson nose and texture a bit to much!! :) lol

The other day I was looking at a photograph I'd taken at spring training in Arizona. My digital camera has an annoying delay between when I press the shutter and when the photo gets taken so the player I had been trying to photograph had taken a step or two forward and was partially hidden behind the umpire. And I caught myself thinking, "Damn! Where's the camera control, I need to rotate this for a better....WAIT A MINUTE! Way, way too much time doing POSER.

KattMan ( ) posted Fri, 28 June 2002 at 10:25 PM

This predates poser for me. I used to stand in line at various places (fast food resturant, grocery store, chain-gang, etc.) and look around at the faces near me. I find a nice one and soon enough the person notices me staring as I try to memorize every line in thier face so I could go home and draw it. At other times I used to do 'aging sketches', kinda like turning the old morph up a bit. Used to draw young people 30-40 years from now. Some of these skills may have left me since I have been usng poser for years now.

I will admit that I do this with Poser so very often, but I also have a big problem with... TiVo... Ever since I purchased one about a year ago now (where has all the time gone?! I had originally typed 4 months before checking for the actual date!!), I have felt the need to 'Pause' life so I could go catch a phone or 'Rewind' because someone said something funny and I missed it. I'm just so ashamed!! ;) Aaron

I look in the mirror in the mornings & wonder if I can get rid of the grey with postwork Rob

darkphoenix ( ) posted Sat, 29 June 2002 at 4:30 PM

this is actually how i handle anger control. when my boss upsets me so much I can hardly take it, I apply this texture I made of him from all the photos I have and turn him into a 3d character in poser. Then all kinds of nasty things happen to him ....... I've tried doing the same thing to myself, but I can never seem to get my face quite right .....
