Subject: Multiple uses...

Ok...I like Bryce an everything, but does this thing have any other uses? Can you put characters in your world and run around and do stuff like that? Can you save your created world and import the file to some other program and use your world? I just wanted to know. I haven't used it in a while and I still can't make any characters...how sad is that? I guess I should try to create things. I see pictures of cool buildings and wish I could make somethng like that... Oh well...Bryce is still cool...

Hi akuma, of course you may import some characters in your Bryce scene, you should use poser to create some characters. Bryce allow to create terrains and export them in another soft. Cheers

Not sad, for Characters you really want Poser. Bryce is aimed towards making landscapes or even mechanical things. Running around? Sounds like you need a good 3D game and a level/character editor. Although, there is something called(I believe)"Atmospheres" from Adobe that can be used in conjunction with Curious Labs "Avatar". Maybe somebody else will chime in with that info. I think you can find out about that at Curious Labs.com.

Atmosphere and avatar lab are geared towards web exploration games. I found the sample worlds on Atmosphere were more like hide and seek than anything else. If you want to get into games, there's a whole different arena in the Half-Life department such as CounterStrike game and the myriad of maps that folks make for it. I think I've seen a sky in one of the maps that reminded me VERY MUCH of a Bryce image. However, I don't use Bryce for anything in the gaming department. You'll want a low poly modeler and some of the mapping programs out there like Hammer if that's your goal.

The company that makes 3D Studio Max has a free, downloadable program called "gmax". It allows game players to create, customize, and exchange their own game content online. Maybe that is more what you are looking for/also. AgentSmith

Right...so I should just make out a huge list of programs to find. I want to go as far as the game HALO. I have atmosphere, but it was confusing. Maybe because of the Multiple screens... Ok...so Poser and Avatar... I WOULD have replied sooner, but...ya know...work...
